The Hitman games

DD, the Hitman games are excellent :D I love(d) Hitman 2, really like the score behind it  Contracts was a bit of a let down, unfortunately, but Blood Money more than made up for it.
If you don't want to be stealthy, you can go in all-guns-blazing but the odds are heavily against you~

If you want to go in all-guns-blazing......

I'd recommend you have the M4 with the 100 round barrel clip aswell as armor piercing rounds ;)

I cheated sometimes and got myself the minigun in the club (Contracts) ....

factoid: Hitman was one of the very first games with full ragdoll physics.

Played through Silent Assassin, Contracts and Blood Money on great series.

Blood Money was really good, some of the levels are just crazy, the graphics in 2006 anyway blew my mind. Plus the end wow!

You can get the above mentioned games in a triple pack now, quite cheap too.

I downloaded the demo from another source, this time directly from Eidos, and it worked in XP. It is a tad dated graphically, to say the least :D Also the controls are a bit odd for a 3rd person game, is it just the first game or are they all like that? Pressing A or D doesn't strafe, it rotates your character. W and S move you back or forward not in the direction of your mouse view, but in the direction the character happens to be facing. I'm sure I could get used to it but it's odd to say the least. Reminds me of the older Resident Evil games.

I can't honestly remember the controls, although you do get used to them after a while!

Think I am going to have to go and dig out the series and replay now :D

Hm, I would fire up the new one for you and check, but I think I removed it just the other day.

I think they are all like that though? Can't remember for definite...However I believe the forward and back ones are like that, due to the fact you need to be able to watch people while walking past them sometimes...Rather than strafing across there line of site, might look a bit odd to an unsuspecting victim you see :p

EDIT: The controls are the same in blood money.

You'll used to them, nout wrong with them to be honest.

Although I might just be a bit more clunky in the first one.

The Hitman games are fantastic, somehow they just contain a fantastic atmosphere that very few games manage to capture properly.

The first one is very lacking compared to the later games, but I'd still recommend you start with that one; at the time it came out, there was nothing like it really. The music and use of sound is fantastic in setting atmosphere for each level. By going through them in order you'll be able to better appreciate the advancements and improvements each game went through. The attention to detail in Blood Money is very impressive, such as the way 47 will, if he's carrying a pistol, move it behind his back if people are coming towards him. Very clever stuff.

Can't wait for the next one.

Annoyed now, I can only find Codename 47 and Blood Money! Where the hell have my copies of Silent Assassin and Contracts gone?? :(

I'm finding Silent assasin pretty hard at the moment...It's really weird.

The guards all have super hearing.

played all four of them and they are absolutly fantastic! would recomend them!

Favorite was the 3rd one, and the fourth brings in a new style of play which took a while to adjust to after the 3rd

There's a trick to it in SA, they turn towards any sound you make, even through floors or walls. So you can run/walk near one door to get a guards attention, then sneak around to a door behind them.

Sometimes you sneak into a room and there's a guard just staring into the corner, that's 'cause he heard you in that direction before you started sneaking.

Indeed. The number of times I wired that chauffeur peeing in the alley and rolled his corpse into the sewer... ah good times...:D
