does overclocking seriously harm the lifespan of the CPU?
Not in the amount of time it'll be useful for, no.

I have been impressed by the core i7 rigs with how "out of the box" stable they are, they are a dream to config.

£500 off.... ive been thinking about gettting a new rig, with the 280GTX that would be a very impressive rig... should i???
Also you got the wrong gfx card![]()
No he hasn't. The base system in the link comes with a 4870 512mb card. The GTX280 is extra.
Theres a real difference with a PC with a Raptor,.
That's a good point but not everyone would be arsed to do that or has the patience, especially regarding overclocking!lol, for £260 profit I'd buy seperate bits and built myself
You'd still get a warranty with all the parts anyway

Gordon Brown wants everyone to spend to get the country back on it's feet again, so start spending, think of like Uncle Gordon ordered you to buy this.
I find designing and building a tower to my own spec is really enjoyable and so satisfying when I get it running and see that it performs better than I expected.
Just started my new build last night, going well.
Personally I wouldn't pay that much for that system, but if you want total peace of mind and full support and dont like the hassle of building then go for it.
It is a good spec,
Only a 300GB hard drive?
For that price you'd want AT LEAST 1TB.
I realise it's a Velo but it needs a second drive![]()
get a better case with a good PC like that.
