I'm really confused. I bought some 10mm braiding, yet I can't even get the molex connector to go through. ocUK don't seem to stock larger. How do other people do it? Do they cut the wires and then crimp the connector back on once the braiding is over the cable???

:o

Use a molex extraction tool to remove the pins from the molex, then take the molex off, put the braid on, and attach it back on.

You can pop the molex pins out with something like a tiny screwdriver or a special molex tool. You can get braid much bigger than 10mm, but it will look messy over only 4 wires. Don't forget to finish the ends off with heatshrink either. :)

Cool thanks everyone. I plan to wrap about 2-3 lots of molex cables into one braid. I was just really confused with how to get the end in (ooo eerr missus! lol). :)

I'll try and get the pins out as suggested.

PS. Just bought some heatshrink as well. :D

Thanks.

Hey guys.

Just wanted to say thanks! I have braided and heatshrunk the cables today. Look 10x better than before. :D Now I just need to finish off my radbox, cut a hole for the braided cables to go through and get the side fitted.

:D
