Did you outgrow teenage spots? Does it get better?

Yeah, I think people are OTT about it. But I still don't think sunbeds are the long term answer...maybe if he used them for a couple of weeks, got rid of the spots and then never went near the tanning salons again.

They help a lot with confidence issues too. always makes me feel better with a bit of colour, although im too lazy to go to the sunbeds often enough lol

plenty of oil on the face equals you will age better , plus nobody thinks twice about seeing afew spots on a teenager seriously , sun always worked with me but if it did worry me loads i would go to the gp

I never had em, neither did wor lass but my 2 daughters ... one hasn`t but one has. Not like acne, but eruptions on the forehead and chin, she has a terrible diet. Other daughter is a veggie, temple/body yada yada. The spotty one (sorry pet!) is 20 now and well, she cut all the **** out about 6 months ago. Hardly gets em now.

I`ll get her a couple of Donners thru the week, we`ll know for sure then if that`s just a coincidence ;)

Hey tho man, chin up :) Worrying may well fetch it on, might sound wussy but try a facial spa/steamer thing too ;)

Guys i appreciate the replies but can you please simply answer

Did you get spots as a teenager?

Are you clear now? (naturally) and if so your age!

Really appreciate the kind posts :)

I'm 18 and got rid of them bout 2 years ago after getting some roacatine (spelling?). Side effects were really dry lips and some random dry spots on my arms, can also alter your mood, and you get blood tests throughout the treatment. After about 6 months time I was all clear.

Have you thought about getting medical help? I still had bad spots aged 18 and the doctor stuck me on roaccutane, which sorted it right out.

I'm 21 and the only I spots I get now are on my backside.

Yes,

No and I'm 19.

Stopped drinking milk for 3 months, no change. Now I drink 1-3 pints a day (still haven't got over missing it so much! :p )of semi skimmed and they're the same.

I've found the best face products are the ones for girls (garnier pure and neutrogena) as they seem to make a noticeable difference.

Alcohol seems to be the only thing that makes a noticeable difference.

Also, only, if you absolutely must, pop whiteheads. Don't squeeze red areas as while they may pop they'll swell up like absolute ******** and generally get worse aesthetically.

The main thing I found was that as soon as I gave up caring about them, I noticed them less, and girls certainly don't seem to care :p

I find when i drink water it gets worse! so i just stick to my green tea, think water clears out all impurities and whilst it probably does it brakes me out for some reason :s saying that though i was drinking it excessively, like 10 pints a day, maybe i should just drink it when I'm actually thirsty...

How long did you do it for? It will get worse before it gets better with improving your diet. You need to keep it up for a month or two to see any effects.

stop drinking all fizzy drinks, only drink water, cut out crap and such, this worked for me, found my triger was fizzy pop so i cut it right out,

In a word no I didn't outgrow it and I had to go on roaccutane to get rid of it. It wouldn't have gone by itself in my case. There are two types of acne and one goes away when you leave puberty, the other doesn't. Go see the quack either way because it's horrible to have to have loads of zits.

If it's any consolation it never seemed to put the girls off.

I had it quite bad in the middle of secondary school. Now I have the odd one where a hair is struggling to get through :)

Not sure the chemistry behind it, but unless you have a really unique case then yes you will outgrow them, i had a mate at uni who had a well bad case, his face ended up scarred to bits from the whole thing, but i know a few years on and the spots have clered up, not the scarring though.

I used to get bad spots on my back and face, went to docs got some tablet things, few months later they were all gone, been 10 years and skin is still clear.
