Impossible to cancel xbox live

I've tried changing all my details to completely false ones, phoning them up, but every single month MS manages to take my money, I'm going to get my account banned by setting racist comments as my motto and reporting myself.

Why do they ruin a good service with such crap?

cancel the direct debit with your bank then it will bounce at their end, problem solved.

And if they are still providing the service, they can register the debt against you and eventually get a CCJ against you... Problem most definitely not solved.

Send a recorded letter if you're having no luck cancelling.

I think people have had problems with their gamertag getting banned after doing that.

To watchdog!!! Everybody seems to have problems cancelling their live sub. That is why i only use prepaid cards and not my CC with them. They only have my cc so i can buy live points, and they have never taken a subscription payment off me with it.

You have to phone up to cancel. They'll try n sell you some xtra free months but they will cancel if you persist.

he has already phoned them up. TBH i find it shocking that they cannot provide a simple "do you wish to cancel Live Subscription payment via CC" within the Xbox dash options or Windows Live on the PC. Companies that do this are only doing it for one reason.

It annoys me that they have the cheek to force you to call up and cancel. There should be a cancel/remove card option where it emails a confirmation to your email address and if you confirm then your live sub/card is cancelled/removed from their system.

If hassling thier customer support doesn't work. Send them a recorded letter stating you want to cancel your subscription etc. then cancel the direct debit a week later. They can't do jack then as you've notified them and given them time to respond.

Goes to show why Microsoft are so "successful". It's so hard to get out thier money pits.

When i wanted to cancel my Live sub I phoned them up, very easy and simple to do, you have to confirm your address, CC details etc to make sure you are legitimate. They did say 'But Halo 3 is out this week!' and i was like 'yeahh...and ?' lol

I can't see why you guys have an issue~ :confused:

+1 job done. Why should you be running around after them? Its your money - they are supposed to be providing you with a service (and that cinludes a hassle-free way of leaving that service)

Been through all this myself, annoying as ****.

It wasn't that I even wanted to stop using XBL, I just wanted them to stop charging my card every time so I could move over to prepaid cards.

Same. Seemed like too much hassle to register a credit card with them. Prepaid codes are cheaper anyway

hang on..if they are taking his money against his will when he cancelled they are in the wrong not him mate.

Not if he doesn't cancel through the correct procedures, which cancelling the debit would be classed as.

People dont read the thread, he's said he cancelled it and they cocked it up so really it's not his problem now if they are charging him for what he doesn't want.

Actually, it doesn't say he has cancelled the service correctly, it just says that he's tried changing his details to false ones and phoning them up, not the same thing at all depending on the correct cancellation process, and whether it was completed successfully by both parties.
