Does anyone know what the terms of the B grading means on a monitor? Does it just mean open box or can it apply to other defects?

Is there a description of B Grade on the site somewhere?

I think it can mean open box, driver cd's missing and cables missing possibly. 2 weeks warranty only with OCUK. After that deal with manufacturer.

Not 100% sure on that though :)

thanks for the replies, think ill wait till monday and give them a call on the specific item

they will probably not be too helpful with that - can you imagine the hassle of everyone wanting to ask exactly what was wrong with each thing - if it was practical in the first place, it would surely be on the website info?

surely they should at least have a description of what "B" grade means on the site somewhere - never seen another site that doesnt

if theyre not helpful then i won't buy it, simple as that

yeah, i'm sure it says what b-grade is. but i doubt they will give individual descriptions of what is wrong with an item over the phone/web message

Please just use the search function. There are a million threads on this topic. Also, i'd like to suggest one of the admins writes a quick description and stickies it in general hardware as people are asking this question every week it seems.

I bought a B-grade Hazro 24i, and it basically means they give u a 14-day warranty which they don't tell u about on the site!
but remember the LAW says the item must be fit for purpose and of merchantable quality.
And thus covers u fully for 6-months, where the burden of proof is on the retailer to prove it wasn't faulty when sold.
But in my experience OCUK don't know the sales of goods act. Although if its a b-grade hazro, hazro as always are helpful
Hope this helps

and if you do have any problems http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/ is always helpful

if u try and search b grade it comes up with b is too common so isnt searched for

so many smart people on here who have to be clever rather than try and help

I assumed, [as a long time apple user] id would be same as apple, perfect working order with FULL WARRANTY with the possibility of cosmetic damage.
If anyone from OCUK are reading this a section on the site listing exactly what B is would be helpful

In my experience 'B' grade can mean:- open box, a customer returned item, a RMA item that has either been repaired or replaced by the manufacturer, an item that has been used for test purposes, surplus stock, products with missing parts.

Do not assume that the item will work, I have had a few 'B' grade items that were DOA.

I purchased a 'B' motherboard a few years ago and someone had had ago at repairing the DIMM sockets on the back of the board, several of the pins had solder shorts on them. If I had put my CPU and memory in it and powered it up it would have gone up in a puff of smoke taking my CPU and memory with it.

The last time someone linked to the B-grade rules there was no mention of B-grade on that page. Asking for a working link is not being lazy - it is actually very hard to find the information, if it is there at all.

If the forum search doesn't work try typing this into Google:
site:forums.overclockers.co.uk "b grade"

The double quotes searches for the complete string.
