Yesterday (all my troubles seemed so far away) I went to over clockers and treated myself to some new hardware. Yay, go bonus!
Nothing special. AMD X2 5000+, 4GB DDR2 (the stuff on offer), ATI4670, Gigabyte motherboard and 750GB of SATAII HDD space and a SATA DVD-RW.
Now whilst this isn't a super computer by the standards on here it is the fastest computer in the house yet takes the longest to load Vista despite getting 5.9 on the HD Benchmark score.
Oh Vista why do you do this? A laptop with a 5400 HDD loads quicker. Let's not even go there when it comes to my MacBooks loading time as it beats them all into a cocked hat.
Is there anything I can do to boot quicker?
Finally and this is just a pure rant at Blizzard. How freaking long does it take to patch a fresh WoW install? Come on I want to see the improvement in WoW going from a Intel GMA 950 (64MB yeah baby) to a 512MB 4670.
Thank the Goddess I am out this afternoon as all this waiting is killing me.
Little build advice. Don't plug the 6PIN PCI-E power block into the ATX12v 4pin block as it won't work.
