Hi Guys

I need some help please! I'm currently pricing up replacing my cables in my hi-fi / pc / tv setup. The current setup is using different cables all over the place and incorrect lengths, so I want to rip it out and start properly. :)

I'm just looking at the moment as to what is out there, makes, specs and all of that. I'm googling most stuff. ;) However, I'm confused with these connections.

Sites are all offering these fitments to the end of speaker cable. At the moment, I run some unbranded stuff that is open at the ends. This fits in my amp and speakers. I simply unscrew the terminals, push the cable in, then screw the terminal back down and squish the cable.

What I'm confused with, do you need a special (new) amp or speakers to use these banana or spade terminations on the cable? I can't see where they fit on my amp or speakers. :o A picture on these websites would be really handy!!

OR! Do I need to unscrew the terminal right the way out or something and then the banana plug goes in it's place? Or do I get a spade and then tighten the terminal down onto that instead of the bare cable?

Thanks for any info!! :D

Hah! Sorted it!

I took one of the screw terminals out the back of the amp and there is a black cap insert which when you pull out is where the banana terminal goes (4mm).

Why can't these sites say this. Not everybody is a genious.

MODS. Please close or delete this thread please, it is no longer needed. ;)

Ta!

Haha i've been looking at cable termination for my final setup - i've decided to not bother with bananaplugs or anything else (seeing as I don't really plan on changing things or moving kit around).

Bare wire should suffice (from what i've been reading anyway!)

Ahh. :) I'm the same, the kit isn't moving. But, I think it'll just look neater. :p
