Does anyone know/think that OcUK will be having a January sale?

Or will they be sticking with the normal discount lines?

I only buy from them due to great service and prices and need to buy something, so will it be worth me waiting to see, or should I buy now as they wont and have the bits to work with over the holiday?

None of the retailers really do January sales. Loyalty to a single retailer in this current climate is madness. It makes more sense to shop around and get the best deals. Retailer's don't think any more of you for shopping with them.

Its anti ocuk to talk about waiting for sales. Recently a guy got banned for advising someone to wait for the jan sales.
lol thats ridiculous, we live in times of hardship with a recession, people losing jobs etc & people get banned for being given advice to buy after christmas? Jeese whatever next.

Probally get banned for saying "Jeese" because its shouting out the Lords name in vain by some religious nutter mod. lol

Crazy anyway.

I totally understand if someone was recommending another retailer as this forum is supported by them.
But banning someone for recommending to wait and see is a bit hard?
Thats like banning someone for saying dont buy the i7 as there is a new one due in 2 weeks.
Anyway, this is not a threat to slate them or recommend going elsewhere. I have shopped at OcUK for nearly 5 years now, they always deliver next day, well, 99% of the time, and to be honest I very rarely find prices any cheaper elsewhere, especially when you roll into it paying 2 postage fee's.
And that's before you consider free postage for forum members. They do not have to do this as they are very good with pricing, so I guess that would/should breed some loyalty, especially in these hard times.

This "banning" is there proof ? link ?

I'm not saying its not true I just find it hard to believe tbh

I cant find link but the guy had been here for years i woulda said with the amount of posts he had. I think we should maybe stop talking about this before it happens to us and im on very thin ice anyway.

I'm sure he wasn't banned for saying 'wait for the sales' - it was probably for something they posted in another thread and you just noticed banned by their name...

Well to be honest, i'm itching to spend some cash on replacing my aging water cooling stuff, and perhaps a new case as well - i've been holding off for the same reason.

Saying something like "Dont spend your money at OcUK, spend it at ____" is probably wrong, but just saying wait till Jan sales.. don't really think its bannable

As said already, sounds too farfetched to be true.

Rubbish, probably for something else - as many people have said computer component etailers just don't have january sales, simply because their isn't a christmas rush for high end graphics cards - people don't buy thing like that for presents.

If you think someone's been banned for simply saying wait for sales (which there never are) email webmaster and I'll check it out for you.

Its not my place to ask for him to be unbanned. I emailed a webmasters recently about my MM access be removed for offering to pick up a case for someone outa the goodness of my heart which would have closed the deal and made a sale between 2 members but As i was not the one buying i got a weeks ban and MM removed but no reply from the webmasters. I think it was a little excessive when you see some of the things that the mods let go here. For offering to do a good deed i get punished. I will let him know about this thread and get him to email you. Cheers.

It was explained in another thread that even though he co tributed a lot to the forum, he flauted the rules a lot with swearies and other stuff. That and he'd been warned multiple times for various things.

I hope it's ok to post that, I'm just repeating what a don said in another thread :)
