HTC HD - you got one? what you think??

I'm thinking of going for the O2 200 deal(200mins, 200texts(I don't use that many minutes or texts). £25/month(think its like £23 or so a month till end of december next year due to the 15% text), £96.89 for the phone), I'm stuck at home at the moment(no job) so am near wifi so no imidiate need for the web bolt on right now(will get it as/when I get a job and am out of the house and away from the wifi to need/want it).

still thinking about the G1 tho, so G1 or Touch HD?

The bolt-on change was easy, I just rang up upgrades and and the woman (supposedly) did it. I was then transferred to retentions to see if I could transfer my number straight from one to the other and was told I couldn't.:)

Ah, ok, I haven't actually inserted my new sim yet, I guess i'll get it when I do.

Time to start putting on some apps me thinks, especially the gyrator and full screen keyboard.

Also, strange question, how do you lock the phone... :o

Just a short press of the power button on top. However, get S2U2 as the Windows lock isn't that reliable. Somehow when it was in my pocket it managed to start Coreplayer and begin playing my last video, which was....ahem......adult in nature.

It was a bit embarrassing walking through the shops with what sounded like a brothel in my pocket.

Haha, I did that on my old phone - showed a "lady friend" how good the video playback was and I forgot about the last clip I'd been watching :-O

Mr Squirrel,

How did you achieve those trendy battery/signal/wifi etc icons?

I have a Touch Diamond but I presume the procedure is the same!

Ta :)

Get S2U2 - I can't even remember how to use the in built winmob lock function. I also noted on my Kaiser pressing the power button quickly switches the display off - effectively locking it - maybe the same works for the Blackstone? I'll test it tonight.

Yeah that works, it's what i'm using at the moment, but I was wondering if there is a proper way to do it. Having said that I haven't had any problems so far.:)

Haha, moral of the story, stop watching porn on your phone!:p

I'll have a look into getting S2US as well.

Does anyone else have problems with hissing on their phone speaker during calls? It's pretty distinctive (ie it will start and be loud then stop) and can be quite noisy making hearing people a problem. It was really bad on the call I made last night but not quite as bad this morning. I'm wondering if there is a problem with the speaker and whether the phone needs to be sent back.:(

I think you transfer it to your phone, then (using your phone) click on it to open? What I don't know if you can do is delete the file after, is it just an installer or where the data is kept? If it is the data I assume you should stick it in program files before you open it.

I'm trying to install that program that scary squirrel has for changing the icons. So i plug the phone in and it lets me open the removable drive but nothing else. Seriously confused now  Can someone help please :)

Just transfer the .cab file to your storage card (I have a folder called Installs for stuff like this). Unplug your phone, then navigate to the folder through file explorer and run the .cab by tapping it.

You can delete the .cab after you have installed it. If you want to uninstall something go to Start > Settings > System Tab . Remove programs

Not a bad price, im going to wait as my spider sense tingles until after new year when i think other phone shops can sell the phone to see what price it comes down to then.

At the mo, any saving is good news for me.

So what apps have you all put on now? just the icon changing and the virtual drum kit?

Just thought I would mention for the more adventurous of us, that XDA have now started to cook some ROMS for the HD. Some look quite good, basically they have quite a few of the tweaks already applied and some cosmetic stuff applied.

Beaware though that Flashing the ROM can damage/bork your phone if done wrong. Its at your own risk if you want to Flash the ROM.

Well so far got s2u2, tomtom7, hd tweak, core player and musicid - today will be the first real test of its battery :)

How are you finding your battery life guys?
