What cpu cooler would you guys recommend for the Q9450 which will be in the asus maximus formula X38. Need something that will fit on the motherboard and help me get the most out of the cpu, thanks :)

double check if ure case will be big enough for the dimensions, and im sure ure motherboard will be fine with it, my dfi board has a massive northbridge heatsink so i have to make sure

The TRUE is widely regarded as the top air cooler (and fits the maximus formula) and the tuniq is also pretty good, i use the TRUE on my q6600 @3.8ghz temps of 68-68-62-62 100% p95 load, other good coolers are the noctua, xigmatek hdt or the sunbeam core contact.

Thanks guys, I like the look of the Tuniq, would look alright in my case which has a clear side panel. The case btw is an akasa eclipse!

The TRUE is a bit pricey though, £40 for a cooler is just way too much for me. Unless I find a cheap one of MM :)

You should be fine with either in an eclipse, just installed a window panel in mine tonight, now need a few lights to bling it up a bit:D

Indeed, plenty of space inside the eclipse and its built solid, had mine for well over a year and intend on keeping it for a long time yet :D

I've put a post up in the wanted section so I will see what people have to offer.

edit:

setter I see you are using OCZ Reaper, how is that ram, I am looking at that myself please check:
