Help me pick another idea for my little project!

I watched a film where the guy started doing this, writing down all his options on cards then picking one at random and doing it. Can't remember what it was called though.

Edit: Chaos theory.

I am pretty certain that I didn't come up with this idea myself - I like you think there was a film about something similar but I cannot remember what it was.

Film was Chaos theory, only found it because it had blonde doctor from scrubs playing a naughty number. I've always wondered if taking advice from films like this and Yes man is worth doing just to make life different, suppose all you need is the willpower to stick to it.

That is true! I have put it on hold until after Christmas because of present buying but it will start up again in the new year.

Oh, I also added Chaos Theory to the movie tub. :p

You should have a books one and try and read The Dice Man by Luke Rhinehart. I think you'll like it.

I kind of already have that going - I have the "1001 books to read before you die" and I have initialed all the ones I have read - I just flick through it and if it falls on one I haven't read, I buy it.

I need to read the Dice Man though.

Make a tub into a fishbowl with a fish for each other tub you have. A few hours before you are going to pick out of a tub, feed the fish. Then, a few hours later, sit watching the fish and the first fish to poop determines the tub you pick out of. (You need to assign a fish to each other tub).

For added fun, you can take a picture/draw/print an image of each fish and stick them onto your tubs to make identification easier.

Finally, if a fish dies, you have to buy everything in its tub.

Is it bad that I actually want to do this?

Although - not by watching them poop - the first one to eat food or something...

I suppose you could drop one flake into the bowl and see the fish compete for it; the winning fish gets something picked out of his corresponding tub. However, you'd need to feed them properly afterwards too. It would be too difficult to just see who eats first as they'll probably end up eating at the same time.

It's crazy searching through the forums looking for the thread that got you thinking about something... or even got you to rent the movie. That seems to happen quite frequently around here. With me, at least.

So, after a bottle of vino, I decided to watch this movie. I rented it expecting it to be something like "the Butterfly Effect" -- nothing comedic. Yet, Ryan Reynolds came to life again, like he has done so often. OMG! This guy is so ME! I'm thirty-eight years old (37?) and this is so true to life for me. I try to keep a schedule, my whole friggin job is about order and timing -- Yet, watching this, I seem to agree with the OP titchard that this method of randomly picking selections from a random pile is a BEAUTIFUL thing! I have stuff I want, I have goals, I have dreams. Why not just do it? Screw the consequences. Just go with it!

Totally off topic here.

Ok, I've always suspected (still, after 16 years) that only my first was legitimate. The 2nd she was supposed to be on the pill, and the third I was fixed. But after the breakup (3 years in) we found the pills to be partially used. That has a strange effect on women, but I never really looked into it. The third was created after we broke up, a one-night stand type thing for old-time's sake. I was fixed at the time, so didn't think anyting of that.

The first is the only one that resembles me at all.

I have been afraid of pursuing it any further. After all, who wants to lose their supremecy over three sons? But something isn't right, and I don't know why.

/drunken post for this thread. Look for me in others.
