Favourate albums of 2008?

Colours was played on Top Gear once, I really enjoyed it so i downloaded it a few days ago to give it a test.

Some of the songs on there are absolutely fantastic! My favourite is torn between You, Appearing and Midnight Souls Still Remain.

After listening to it, I immediately bought the album. Its so good!

Couleurs is my favourite track off the album, and my most listened to track of the year. It's an immense track. After that, I'd say all the tracks are quite equal; no other standout tracks because they're all extremely strong in their own right.

The Mars Volta - The Bedlam in Goliath
Pendulum - In Silico
Beck - Modern Guilt
Russian Circles - Station

Hot Chip - Made In The Dark
Sam Sparro - Sam Sparro
Kings of Leon - Only By The Night

but my favourite is:-

Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid

some beautiful tracks on there.

It's nice to see some Hobo love from other people in this thread. ;)

Buy the album and feed the hobo. :D

Oh crap - christmas smilies again. IT'S NOT CHRISTMAS YET!

Another great album was Street Horrrsing by **** Buttons.
Even though 2 out of the 6 songs were awful, the rest more than made up for it.
My favourite off this album is the opening song, Sweet Love for Planet Earth. The opening is so calm.

Dig lazarus dig - nick cave. (I actually can't remember if it was this year or last but I've went to see him twice on that tour now.)

In Order for me:

Avenged Sevenfold - Live At The LBC/Diamonds In The Rough
Static X - Cannibal Killers/DVD
Slipknot - All Hope Is Gone
Children Of Bodom - Blooddrunk
Scars On Broadway - Scars On Broadway
Metallica - Death Magnetic

In Order for me:
Static X - Cannibal Killers/DVD
Slipknot - All Hope Is Gone
Scars On Broadway - Scars On Broadway

Really? The first two were massively disappointing for me, especially as both have such good back catalogues. Good call on Scars On Broadway though, really enjoyed that album.

die hard Static-X fan, been with them since the Wisconsin death trip days, and its great to see them release a live record, and man there nigh perfect live  and as an Avenged Sevenfold disciple (no im not emo, i mean musically, the stuff im writing at the moment is more melody complete with guitar duets), i was shocked most of the stuff didn't make the cut, except walk which shouldn't really be on any of there albums, but i prefer the Sevenfold version to the Pantera version, matts redneck vocal style suits the song better IMO :)

Scars on Broadway was the real surprise for me, Malakan has such an interesting vocal style, the riffs aren't complicated but there solid and the songs have perfect tempo for the theme of the songs, favourite song strangely enough is Chemicals, its nuts but so catchy! can't wait to hear more from Scars :D

Slipknot, the more i listen to it the more i realise i don't really think its one of the best i have heard this year, its not to bad at all but its not great, were good live though, wish they have picked better songs though :(
