What HDTV Are You Using With Your X360 & PS3?

What are your settings? I've got one of these sitting at home waiting to set up tonight

Hi mate,

Theyre based off the HDTV Test ones.

Backlight: 4
Contrast: 95
Brightness: 47
Colour: 50
Sharpness: 1
Colour Tone: Neutral
NR: Low
Contrast Enhancer: Off

Thing is a lot of people on the AVForums and HDTV Test recommend Warm colour tone and backlight at 2. This just seemed way to dark/brown for me so aint sure whats going on there tbh, best to have a little play yourself.

Aye AVforums are very good, I tend to sit in the sound section around there a lot, some of the guys have worked with/built/specced/designed whatever you name it; it's probably the UKs least biased and most knowledge-rich AV forums (pardon the semi-pun there). A lot of good work on TV calibration/settings etc to read through.

I use a Sense 32" as it was cheap and works, would be very tempted with a 42" 1080p panny plasma if I had the cash though, as I use a lot of 1080 material (almost 50HDDVD, some Blu-Ray, consoles and PC). Wii looks noticeably better sent as component 480p to my Yamaha then upscaled via HDMI to 1080p. The Yamaha only has a reasonable scaler, but lets be fair the Sense is very good for the price but cuts corners in things like blacks, options and scalers.

Sony 32V4000. After playing with the settings etc. the thing is awesome only cost be about 350, think theyre lower than that now! I want a Sony KDL40W4500 next.

Dad has one of those totally awesome TV TBH, it looks better than my brothers 50" kuro. I use a Toshiba 32" Regaza got it fairly cheap under £300, nice TV.

Samsung 32" R88. Very happy with it especially since using the optimised settings from AV Forums.

Panasonic TX-32LZD80

It's fairly expensive considering the size but it offers better picture quality than almost any tv I've ever seen.

panny 42" pz80, full 1080p, use it for my ps3

bought because i managed to bag it for £725inc with a 5 year warranty

blue rays and games look excellent

With my Elite using a
Philips 47" Ambilight TV model number - 47PFL7603D

With my 20gig Premium
Acer 22in monitor model number p223w (sucks ass man hate it )

I think the Samsungs in game mode (developed with Microsoft I believe) provide the best console picture quality.

A 37x Toshiba
A 32x Toshiba both of which I'm happy enough with, the 32 needs replacing with something bigger.

Mainly I use a Dell2405 which I have used since the 360 came out. I even use that for rockband, gets a bit hard in band play though :) Don't notice any lag I have all the rockband settings setting to zero lag and I can't get on any other way. Even with the calibration wizard I prefer zero settings.

32" Wharfdale cheapo from Ar**s in the Gaming room

42" LG downstairs for the Wii and a V+ Box

22" in the main bedroom for Basic tv and DVD's

I was under the impression that the gaming mode makes colours inaccurate, or has this changed on more recent models?
