Sorry if this has been asked, but i had a quick look and checked the FAQ but couldn't find anything. Basically, if i save money by buying the Arcade version, can i open it up and fit my own hard drive? And by own i mean a spare IDE PC drive, not buying the MS HD peripheral!

Also is there anything else really missing from the core console in the arcade pack over say the other versions?

Thanks!

No and its going to be missing an ethernet cable and also a component/composite HD (cant remeber which one it is) cable. Second isnt much of a problem as you can pick up hdmi cables pretty cheap.

Thanks guys. I guess i'll just stump up the extra for the 60Gb version!

Its more than worth it, I was supprised by the ammount of arcade stuff and the demos that came pre loaded on the hard drive. I wonder why they dont mention this in all the stores etc, even less reason to get an arcade?

I got an Arcade for £80, and a 60Gb HDD, headset and 3 months live for £45. In total, £125 for something the same as the 60Gb version, and it also comes preloaded with tons of demos etc.

I would say the Xbox Live Starter Pack is the best value these days for adding storage to an Arcade Xbox 360. £45-£50 for a 60GB hard drive, a headset, an ethernet cable and 3 months of Live.
