Take the day off then! Your suppliers aren't there you could at least catch up with all your emails, rearrange the office, change processes.

Same for people in callcentres/servicedesks.. take advantage of the fact nobody is calling and clean or do something.

Think how much its costing employers to have people just sitting there? You are being paid to work.

I think someone is just a bit bitter that they have work to do on Christmas Eve.

Either that or he is one of those autocratic management types.

Absolutely not. I don't have to do any work. I'm choosing to do it because I'm being paid to work today.

Ive got festive tunes on and sipping coffee whilst working from home.

We as a country and the world are going to be hitting incredibly tough times. Think of all the money that is wasted today because people have a culture of not working?

Take Friday late afternoon for example.. Always wasted because people say its a 'Friday' and put off doing so much until Monday under a pathetic excuse.

Gah i am so bored! Had no emails, no phone calls. Done a quick change to a drawing for one of the surveyors and thats about it. Even tidied my desk to kill some time!

Only 1hr 20mins to go though.

or you could take the point of view that you have absolutely no idea about anyone on here's working habits,
yes i'm at work, yes i'mnot doing much, yes i can't wait to leave

as for the employer paying me bit, well to be honest I give them way more than I have to during the year so i'm taking a slack day doing what I have to and not much else,

would suggest you get off your high horse

Exactly, for example if your job is reliant on people being present and doing their job, you aren't exactly going to have a lot to do are you?

I have to be here today - it's not through choice.
 
Today:

Fixed and perfected my spam email filter. Recieved 7 emails, 4 in spam box 3 that could well go into it too... And that's it.

Edit:Attempting to adapt spam filter more. Will get 2 more of the 7 into the spam folder! /running commentry.

Very Bored, there are no service issues coming in as such, a few problem calls knocking round that i have batted back, now just sitting around sipping coffee and waiting for the management to go home, as soon as they do i will leave 10 mins later :D

Thats quite a harsh thing to say on Christmas Eve, especially from someone who is 'working from home' so your not actually in work yet being paid to be ......... maybe you should be sacked not made redundant ! :p
