*** The Official Football Manager 2009 Thread ***

My game keeps continuing for me until I have an important news message (red) or a match... What's up with that?!

When I try and click on something else, If I have an important news item it'll just keep continuing and jump to that whenever I try and navigate away from it :(

It's like my space bar is stuck down...but its not! :p

EDIT: Continue game timeout was set to instantly. No idea how it got to that :confused:

So I resigned as Greece manager and now for some reason in the Hall of Fame it only shows my Greece stats and not my Barcelona ones. Do I have to change something?
 
Pretty good actually. Haven't really noticed any bugs so perhaps SI are on top of things now. Not seen anything on their forums to suggest anyone has major problems with 9.2.0.

Finding it a lot easier to buy players on 9.2.0 and for a lot less than I paid for them in 9.1.0.
 
Have we got a FM network game up yet? Looks like we've got a fair few who play :D

I've just got back into FM, carrying on my game with Man City but I just had a very annoying game vs Man Utd.

Take the lead on 67mins through my 2 subs Petrov & Robinho combining well for Robinho to score. Looking good until 81mins...Kasper Schmeichel makes an absolute howler! The ball is rolling towards him, he takes a horrible touch, closed down, Berbatov taps it in :(

He actually got injured and I did consider fining him 2 weeks wages for that mistake!

Does anyone have recommendations for a keeper? :o
 
Hugo Lloris? Igor Akinfeev? René Adler? All young, already quite good, and able to become among the best keepers in the game. If you want someone even younger go for Sergio Asenjo or Vincenzo Fiorillo. If I were you I'd buy one of the first three and one of the second two, I got Akinfeev and Fiorillo.

Gah, all confused with this training talk now :(

So what is needed for optimal results? :o

Is it when the coaches workload is on light or is it the actual training schedule workload we're talking about?

You could be right! :p

Have to say that I'm really enjoying 9.2.0. Seems much better than 9.1.0. Arsenal are nowhere near as ridiculously strong and it seems easier to put a challenge together.

Aha.... so as long as I keep the workload on light & have good training schedules then it doesn't matter how many stars the coaches have - I'll be training the players best I can?

Also, thanks for the Goalkeeper advice. Reckon I'm going to go with Steve Mandanda & haven't decided on a youngster yet :p

It's only a couple of weeks till the Jan Transfer window in my game...also need a left & right winger, right & left fullback :D

So much shopping to be done!

Also playing with Man City. Thanks to the almost limitless money I have, my objective is to assemble some kind of super squad. Not there yet, but it's a good team:

I had 100m to spend with city in the second season...but i sold 30m worth of players as well...:)

Tried to get a big name in like Aguero, but i'm not a big enough club yet :(
