Hi, I am going to edinburgh for a short trip, 3 nights.
I have never been there, and I was wondering which hotels would you guys recommend that doesn't stray too far from the main attractions and still has competitive pricing.
there's a travelodge just off the royal mile that's pretty central and probably pretty cheap.
just had a look and it's £70 per night for some random date in march - there's another one slightly less central but by no means out of the way for £32 per night - the £38 savings would easily cover taxi fares anyway.
We got 3 nights in the sheraton in Edinburgh through lastminute for £99/night. Which frankly for the room we had and the fact its slap bang in the centre of town was a cracking deal. They're on there a lot as are many of the big Edinburgh hotels like the Apex (another good one). It's worth checking out.
I stayed at the Apex International, which was very nice, and just next to the castle. I can't remember exactly how much it cost, but i think it was around 80-90 a room.
I also stayed at the jury's inn, which is also fairly central, and it was about 60-70/night I think.

I'll second this, nicest hotel I've ever stayed in, mainly due to the excellent service I received. I think it was the international that I stayed in, it was the newest one of the three but I'm sure they're all nice
Ooh stay at Le Monde, each room is themed after a different country.. very very cool. A lillll bit pricier.. but youll love it. If youre alone and just looking for a place to crash.. then not sure sorry.
