Hi has anyone owned one of these ? found one on pistonheads thats only 200 miles away, what are they like to own, are they torquey, do they make a nice sound ?

Is it too old for the new mega expensive tax rules ? if not how much will it cost a year ?

thankyou

should be able to get £500 off that price to be honest.

I sold an 02 plate estate Ghia X with extras and LPG conversion for 2k.

I have one of these, a facelift 2003 (53) model Ghia X. I like the car - and the facelift model fixes the nasty interior of the earlier ones and adds more kit.

It's a good engine - although thirsty considering its just 170bhp - generally gets 4-5mpg less than the 2.0. I average 30mpg, 34 is acheivable on a motorway run and expect 26-27 max around town.

Enough torque to not get frustrating but its not a car whose average power is made up by lots of torque.

The V6 does make a nice sound though.

It will drink a lot of petrol, especially if you have a heavy right foot!

I know its not a MK3, but my MK2 ST24 doesn't really drink a huge deal, i get 350 miles to a full tank, and thats with a heavy foot!

Whether people consider that to be good or bad is a matter of opinion, but i think its pretty reasonable!

Anyone know about the tax issue ? Read somewhere its tax band F meaning its £125 a year, but elsewhere states £400 a year........eeeek

If it was registered before 1 March 2001 its £185 per year or £101.75 per 6 months, if it was registered after 1 March 2001 but before 23/03/06 its £210 per year or £115.50 for 6 months.

The £400 band is for cars registered after 23/03/06.

Only 200 miles away?!

Agreed, and considering the dog to decent motor ratio from on paper excellent cars when I was last car shopping it has to be a real gem for me to bother travelling 50 miles. I guess its ironic that the one I bought ended up being a 130 mile round trip because of auto trader trickery :p 40 miles... if I could drive straight through fields and through rivers :p
