Do you have a Bible at home and What version is it?

As the title says.

I know there are a few Christians in here and even non Christians can have a bible laying around at home.

So Do you have one and what version do you have?:)


I dont have one at the moment, I had one for school though but i dont know where that has got to now.
Ill be grabbing a NIV(New International Version) over the next week or so though.
Even if i dont read it(i rarely read any book at all) i just want one in the house:)


And im Amused to find they make them in the Digi camo the americans use.
If they come in Auscam then i think ill grab one of those too:D

I have one though i'm not sure what version it is. I was at a pub and there was this group of christians there and we started talking. One guy I spoke to knew virtualy the entire bible off by heart, I couldn't belive it. He had a small pocket sized bible on him and at the end of the night I asked him if I could have it and he said yes.
 
My Guess is that would be the Gideons bible.
They are small and compact and you can normally find them in hotel Draws. AFAIK They contain all of the New Testiment and a few slightly more important bits from the old
 
I've just dug this out, printed in 1794 so quite young for a bible, it's part of a set, this is vol 1, not sure what version it is though.

Am I right in saying the new testament is written more aimed at recent generations rather then the old which was what it was like originally?

Also, is there 20+ parts to the bible, instead of 'parts' don't they have code names instead, i.e genesis?

Sorry for my lack of knowledge.

The New Testament is about Jesus.
 
My bible sits in my top draw next to my bed, it has a picture of a pretty lady on the front and I never seem to get past the first few pages when I pick it up. ;)
 
why would you want a bible

it says that humans and dinosaurs were created at the same time 5000 years ago.
