Do you think much has changed over the years?

well we did try to be a republic for 11 years, but I guess that didnt work out because we restored the monarchy :p

I think there needs to be a face to hold the sections of the uk together - albeit she doesnt do a very good role of that. but still some ones gotta do it.

He doesn't but at least he doesn't get paid ridiculous sums to be useless.
The Royal Family generate vast sums of money in tourism alone, dwarfing what we actually pay them in our taxes; This doesn't even include the uncountable value of their representation of this country to the worlds businesses and politicians; and not forgetting their endless charity work and the numberous trusts and causes that they tirelessly champion.

They have a job which is entirely undervalued and one they are literally groomed for at birth, a job which i certainly would not like undertake myself. The icing on the cake is that despite their efforts the best their nations people can say of them is that they're ****ing useless.

what a shame

I dont like the Royal Family but they did offer a great passion for British people during the war and hard times, we should be proud of the monarch and the empire it sustained.

At the end of the day I would do anything for Queen and country and so should every British person. We owe how we live today to the people that did years ago.

Image an army with a "dont give a **** attitude" we wouldn't of lasted 5 minutes.

As ambassadors for this country i'd say (aside from Phillip's occasional gaffes :o) i'd rather have them than any politician.
