This is going to sound really stupid, but my TV playback appears to be 'fast'

As in title really, its been driving me insane the last couple of days - and i wasn't going to say anything about it until i heard my brother say the same.

Everything i watch, initially The Dark Knight on Blu Ray, and since just random TV or DVD's.

The motion, or video appears to be playing faster than normal, yet the sound is perfectly okay - its weird, and there is no explanation for it (Films last the same amount of time, and the sound is correct).

Am i going mad as i had first thought, is this at all possible?

Havent changed any blu ray player settings.

Its a 37" samsung LE37A656

Just tried changing the "100hz MotionPlus" setting to off instead of medium, i'll see if i notice a difference :)

yeh see what its like. I would set the tv to "movie" mode.

Hang on... gimmie 10 or so minutes to dig out a proper settings sheet for your telly. Your probably watching it in "dynamic" where it looks truely awful & major colour distortion.

ok dude. for the love of santa please please please change your TV settings, the will appear odd at first, but trust me. Those settings will look really natural & you may even see more detail in shadowy parts of films for instances.

First link, second posts has recommended Tv settings. Movie mode may help your fast moving pic issue. I would read those links fully your fast picture issue may have been mentioned in there.

Oh just thought! have you upgraded the TV's firmware? That may help!

Didn't even know you could upgrade TV firmware, so no! Haha :-)

Thanks for that mate, will look into what you have posted and let you know :)

hehe same applies to your blu-ray player. I personnally would upgrade the firmware for the TV & blu-ray player & change me TV settings to those in thread, remember to do it for all your inputs & then see if that fixes your prob.

I've seen a demo of the cinema mode on some tvs where it predicts what in between frames should look like so for a 24fps movie it actually shows it at like 48 fps - or something like that - please somebody correct me if i'm wrong

anyways it didn't look natural and seemed faster than normal tv, although I think that was just more of an illusion - it looked similar to footage shot on a home video camera
