Mondeo ST220 3.0 Petrol

a lot cheaper as the recession takes hold and people cant afford high band tax and fuel ect
i really dont think theres much point buying a big thirsty car atm unless you plan on keeping it 5 years.with the way prices have crashed lately theres no way im ever selling my m3,i would rather keep it and supercharge it than virtually give it away.

Well thats a bit stupid, if all "thirsty" cars are being given away then just "give" yours away and you can pick up another for free.

Life is always relative, the problem only comes if you leave the market and/or can't afford the finance.

just because something is fast doesnt mean it has to be really bad on fuel!!
i can get 35mpg out of my m3 on a run down the A1 to my parents and thats not taking it proper easy its cruising at 3000+ in top gear with a few overtaking manoevers every now and again.i had a 2.5 alfa a while ago and that wouldnt get near 30mpg if you did 55mph all the way and it wasnt anywhere near as fast as the m3.
i would hazzard a guess that i would get better mpg out of my m3 than the st220,really efficient engine

I don't understand what you're trying to say? I should get an M3 rather than an ST220? I can't afford to run or insure an M3. I can't even afford to buy one.

Anyway. Been to test drive the Mondeo today.

OMG. It's absolutley fantastic. The leather recaros are very very comfortable :)

Plus it's quite quick :D

Perfect motorway cruiser :D :D

Crappy phone cam pic. Would have liked it in Performance Blue but you pay a premium for that colour plus this is a bargain anyway.

Ohh and they got it in and the manager decided to take it home so it hasn't even been valeted yet!

Agreed the deal yet? What interior is on that one?

Same as:

So facelift.

It doesn't have Xenons so it hasn't got the tech pack. I assume it's the base ST model. I'm not bothered though as it's still a hell of a lot more gadgetry than the Focus. And it has cruise which is something I was after.

We've agreed a deal at £4,800 with part ex which I am quite happy with. Gonna sign on the dotted line tomorrow night when I take the missus to see the car. (She's gonna drive it too so she needs to have some say :()

I've struggled to get any sort of discount as they gave the old owner £6,000 for it so they need to make some profit :(

If I had a penny for every time a car that didnt look too bad in the pictures turned out to be a shabby heap of junk when you viewed it..

Or for every time "yea mate, FSH!" over the phone, yet it magically disappears when you get there, or goes from 8 stamps to 2 stamps in the log book :)

would never get a car on finance, finance is the reason the country is in such a state at the moment.what i was stating was that cars that were £10k a year ago are now £5k and its a bit annoying when you have shelled out your hard earned.fair enough that the car your are likely to buy to replace the one you have has also fallen in value but its still a bitter pill to swallow
