erm they start on 2-3 quid because thats the minimum charge

surely minimum fare means thats the minimum the fare will cost not the price it starts at?
i use a local taxi company all the time anyway from my house to town it comes to 2quidhalf the price of black cabs and most other companies

^I'm in agreement with SPW regarding the case; no need for a capital T in "Taxi's" when it's used in the middle of a sentence.
Moving back on topic I'd imagine a pre-booked cab for 19:30 shouldn't be too much trouble, as he's discovered.
