Are there any fully compatible iphone 3g headunits about yet? I know some work on and off with the iphone 3g.

I would like to get one to replace my factory fit one, but none I have found seem to do the job, I would aslo want one for bluetooth calling

No its annoying really, the iphone orginal charged of the 12v firewire pins, however *** 3g version charges over the 5v usb pins.

Now Apply apparently have said for ages this change will happen, so I guess its the headunit makers fault but surely this must also effect all the new ipods/itouches?

My pioneer headunit can control my iphone 3G and charges it.
It says that it isn't compatible on my phone, but when I cancel it it works fine, pretty cool when you have Simplify installed and have a 3G connection as I can stream the whole of my mp3 collection at home to my phone :)

It affects the new iPod Nano at least, as I found out on Christmas day when my mum tried out the one I bought her as a present and found it didn't work in their two sound system docks.

The Renault Tunepoint & headunit in my Mk3 Clio charges and controls my 3G iPhone fine (with the steering wheel controls), although each time I connect it, it warns me that the accessory is not compatible, if I ignore it things work fine though.

A Scosche passPORT charging adaptor will solve the charging problems and allow the iPhone 3g to work and charge on a compatible head unit.
