Need an opinion on this leather jacket from people who wear this sort of thing...

I'm not usually indecisive when it comes to clothes but as awesome as I think this jacket looks (and im not generally "into" leather), i'm just wondering if realistically the gazillion buttons aren't going to get irritating very quickly.

It's one of the only leather jacket designs that i've seen which makes me go :eek: though... generally i'm not a fan of the traditional saggy fitting leather jacket... but this has a very smart and close-fitting military look to it and the detail is amazing, looks like sex imo.
It's chocolate brown, because black leather makes me cringe.

It's good. Firetrap clothes are of good quality, £225 seems a lot on just the jacket. But it's your money. If you like it, then go for it.

Smart? I think that's particularly scruffy looking (really, if someone was told to dress smart and they came in with that on I would wonder what they were thinking). Also don't expect to wear it in a few years time and not look a little out of place as it is not the sort of look that is timeless. It's also the sort of thing I can't see suiting the majority of people.

However, if it suits you, you like it and you can afford it go for it anyway, what do our opinions matter? :)
 
225 for a leather jacket is fine... I've been looking for one recently, might have to give this one a try :)
 
I'm not a fan of the buttons but it's a nice jacket. Never bought firetrap before so i'm not sure on the quality, you could check all saints as well for leather jackets.

Cheers for the comments guys... just thought i'd try and get a bit of a feeler for public opinion on it. I'd probably wear it with a beanie hat as it's ****** freezing in Zurich at this time of year.

Heh I meant smart for a leather jacket, due to the neat fit and tidy design. It's not meant for business use. :p

I checked All Saints and I HATE that shop, it's so different to my style it's untrue. It's one of those "quirky" places where I could see everything looking good in the fitting room for about 5 minutes and then getting out into the real world and thinking "Oh my god what have I bought, I look like some yuppy mammary gland". As for Firetrap quality... generally VERY well put together. Jeans have lasted me years, and coats are stitched to take punishment.

Hmm only question now is do I get an S or a M? I'm a tight-fitting 36" chest almost and that's a Small size... but i'll likely be wearing it with something thick underneath over winter so i'm wondering if it may be worthwhile buying an M to give me some leeway. Or maybe I should just order an S and an M, try them both on, and then send one back for a refund...

I myself own about 3 leather jackets , 1 3/4 length and 1 full length leather coats. ( all black )

It not bad looking , but it is a very different design than most of the standard classic looking jackets , ie it wont age well , price is pretty good ( for leather in the uk)

The front looks good with all buttons done up but will probably look naff with all opened , opening the first 5 and then pulling the flap over to the side could look cool.

I like the collar on this coat , the inside looks to have some material on the inside ( to stop you getting cold leather against your neck ) , collar buckle might get a bit annoying after a while tho ( having to open close it )

Tho to be honest I wouldn't go for it in brown

How warm does it have to be? Smart as in business or as in smart casual/trendy?

Yeah good comments there and I agree... it's one of those jackets which will require a little effort to use (in relative terms) and it's a question of whether the look is worth it I guess. Brown leather is the only colour I can stand though, it just goes with everything... I find black a bit cheesy. :)
