Will a GTX 280 work in my MB?

Looking to upgrade my cards and was just thinking of moving over to the dark side and going Nvidia GTX 280

Question is will it work in my Asus Rampage Formula X48?

I wouldn't buy a 280 now as they will be no more in 12 days time, the 285 is being released to replace it (overclocked 280 on a smaller 55nm process).

Sure, but it depends on cost really. Will prob end up going for a 4870 1GB as I don't want to spend a load. Anyhow, its gotta be better than what I'm running now

Surely they arent going to be replaced, I would have thought both would still be available. So they might not be the top card in range but they will certainly be around still
