Had a ***** fit falling out with the "boss" and stood on them. Didn't realize for 2 days until I went to wear them. She knew but didn't want to tell me as she knew I'd be gutted. So I need a replacement pair of buds but not got the 100 quid that I paid for them beauties! Any recommendations in the 50 quid zone. Gutted!!!!!!!!111!!!!1111111!!:(

Shure E110s or maybe E210s if you can find them cheap? Never actually used Shure myself but everyone I know raves about them, all my housemates who love their pricey hifi gear have got some.

I personally make do with my Sennheiser CX300s that I got for a tenner off Amazon!

I wouldn't say they are better. I still prefer the Mylarone x3i's I have that are almost in bits but still work compared to my EX85's.

Better? Really?

Thats what I thought. Had some Shure ones before and upgraded to the UE ones, cant find my shure ones anywhere :(

Looked at the Sennheiser CX300s ages ago when I was thinking of getting some new ones. All the reviews said they was good but,hey I paid dear and got what I wanted.Best phones I've heard and now they are bust.

Will have to search for the E210s I think.

Ta for the replies :)

the people who say the cx300's are good, also happen to be the people who havent heard anything better. even at ~£20 or so, the ex85's are in a different league. you'd be hard pushed to find anything under £100 that offers the same balance of clarity, bass extention and level of comfort that the ex85's provide. i know i certainly havent found anything.

Absolutely gutted for you.

<crosses fingers my E4c's never die>

Crossroads Mylar x3

I think that the above are your best bet if you can still find them (just looked where I bought them from when the first came out and they no longer stock them). Expect to pay about $60 IIRC. Really really open earphones, nicely balanced and one of the few "cheap" earphones that I've heard that haven't sounded terrible in comparison to my e4c's.

I agree I have the ex85's and I have had the cx300's which were good but nothing on the ex85's and I also had the shure se110's (which i thought were the worst of the three  seriously no bass). In fact I am constantly blown away by them and my sony mp3 player I purchased recently. Having had ipods for years the move to sony is a revelation.

Cheers,
Hugest

I have a pair of Sony Ex85s (had a pair of ex90's but stollen) and some westone UM2's.

Now the UM2's are in same leauge as Shure E530's. Once modded the Sonys are not that far off the UM2's and certanly sound miles better than the Shure E4C's. The Sonys are a bargin.

if you liked the eb's then you will no way like the se210, best for you in your budget in my opinion is going to sennheiser cx95 next best would be cx500

Well I plumbed for the E210's and can honestly say I'm not disappointed :D Really clear and crisp sounds, with spaces inbetween. LOL must have got used to the bass in my UE's and can't believe how much there was of it. Completely covered every note with it's heaviness. Best phones I had though.

I'm hapy with my new Shure ones at £53 ;) Thanks for the replies guys, much appreciated.

:)

I'm not really. I couldnt afford the EB's so these are the best I could get and I'm happy with them. As I said the EB's are the best I've had but these are a great replacement for what I paid. Maybe the CX500'S are better than what I bought, to late now though lol :D

The clarity of the plugs is excellent, which makes me think I've been spolied by bass since I had th eb's. they just overloaded everything to a point where you cant hear all the little details. Maybe I like them for the fact I can hear everything, and tbh the bass in the 210's isnt that bad.

The UE 5EB's are terrible headphones - the bass is bloatted and poor. The bass on the westone UM'2 actually goes deaper than the EB's yet it never sounds muddy and the treble and mids are cleaner than you will ever get on the shure 210's.

vegetarian i do agree with you, the EB are known for being just all bloated not great bass and yeah the um2 has better bass and even better clarity than the se210 but the original budget was about £50 which kinda rules them out, hell it rules out the um 1 too

Its a real shame you didnt get the Sony EX85's as with my clingfilm mod they dont sound that much worse than the UM2's. Perhaps next time as they are only £22.
