MAIN CARD

* Champ Forrest Griffin vs. Rashad Evans (for UFC light heavyweight title)
* Champ Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Frank Mir (for UFC interim heavyweight title)
* C.B. Dollaway vs. Mike Massenzio
* Quinton Jackson vs. Wanderlei Silva
* Mustafa Al-Turk vs. Cheick Kongo

PRELIMINARY CARD

* Dean Lister vs. Yushin Okami
* Antoni Hardonk vs. Mike Wessel
* Reese Andy vs. Matt Hamill
* Brad Blackburn vs. Ryo Chonan
* Pat Berry vs. Dan Evensen

3 amazing fights that could quite easily be headliners in their own right.

Fully expect Nog to go through Mir, either early or taking it into the later rounds where Mir will almost certainly gas, he hasn't been the same for years (although to be fair he has looked improved recently)

Really hope Forrest can take Evans out. Evans to be fair has had to work hard to get the shot, but personally I feel he's been extremely lucky to still be 'unbeaten' (Was a close fight that could've gone either way against Bisping and Ortiz was docked for holding the cage where i've seen refs let it go for far worse)

Silva/Rampage should be an amazing fight as well! All in all a fully stacked card, really looking forward to this one :)

This is the best card for quite a while and as you say, three fights that could headline in their own right, I can't wait for this either.

I think Nog will take Mir, Griffin to take Evans and Silva to take Rampage and it will be interesting to see how Al-Turk gets on against the ripped Kongo.

I will be going for

Rashad Evans

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira

Wanderlei Silva

Cheick Kongo

I'm not a fan of griffin at all for me he is one of the most boring fighters out there. He simply plays for points, as he knows he has no ko power, and a average ground game.

I don't give mir much of a chance either, as everything he can do nog does it that little bit better.

As for rampage, I see all what's happened recently, and the fact silva has beat him twice, playing on his mind too much.

Also 12/31/2008 - K-1 - Premium 2008 Dynamite!! should be a great event as well.

has anyone ever used UFC on Demand? I dont have access to setanta sports and would like to buy this event online, but I was wondering (apart from the high cost) if its a good service with good quality videos or cut down and has DRM etc?

Champ Forrest Griffin vs. Rashad Evans
Champ Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Frank Mir
C.B. Dollaway vs. Mike Massenzio
Quinton Jackson vs. Wanderlei Silva
Mustafa Al-Turk vs. Cheick Kongo

Forrest always executes gamesplans very well. I think he will take this one near the end of the fight.

I really hope Nog takes Mir apart, he has all the skills too and just needs to perform at 80% capacity on the night and the fight is his.

CB Will take down Massenzio and pound him out, i think it will be TKO stopped in the second.

Not too sure how the Wandy Rampage fight is going to go. They both have brilliant striking and i think thats where the fight still stay untill Wandy gets the clinch; then i think Rampage will either eat the knee's from hell as he did in the past two fights; take Silva down or squirm his way out ASAP. I have Wandy taking this one by TKO in round 2.

Finally i'm going with Kongo for this fight as i think he a great striker even if he does aim for the balls (CroCop :().

Rampage v Axe Murderer on already, this really is a stacked card alright.

Jeez, what a knockout and sweet, sweet revenge for Rampage as well. Wanderlei was out cold for a while after the fight there, awesome punch.

Kongo looked good, with vicious ground and pound taking care of Al Turk, late in the first. One all on the Niagara's count as well.

Great performance by Mir, giving Nog his first stoppage and he really does have a good chance against Lesnar for me.

Forrest bossed the first two rounds, then Evans caught him and some good ground and pound finished things off.

Overall, the best event of the year for me, with none of the fights disappointing me at all and the only disappointing things, was my predictions, 0 - 3.:o:o

Good card but very upsetting for me. I am a huge Silva and Nog fan - seen every Pride event and they both looked like shells of their former selves... Punch drunk and just not moving as well as before.

I love seeing these guys in action but maybe they need to start thinking about retirement... along with a big list of other former champions!

Only one who doesn't look like age is catching up with him, yet, is Fedor... But I am not sure if they will ever sort out the contracts for him to come in.

I was horribly upset as well with Nog and Silva looking like they had taken 5 sleeping pills before they came out. Nog was incredibly docile and looked really poor unfortunately. Its a shame Nog had to lose his never been stopped just ran out of time record to a jitz guy that was striking. Nevertheless Mir did seem to have good boxing in the match. Can't see him going past Lesnar again but thats for another thread ;)

Forrest like said above was executing his gameplan and owning Rashad but got rocked and from there it was a downhill battle that unless Forrest pulled a submission out of the bag quickly he would lose to GnP. Must say if Machida gets his way and gets a shot at the LHW belt soon he will take it straight off Evans but again, for another thread :D

My final point is about Kongo, i'm fed up of this guy. Rogan was going on about how he bossed CroCop around.. no he didn't, he knee'd him in the balls on numerous occasions, and as soon as he received one in this fight, he took his time to recover and then as soon as the opportunity arose he delivered a huge knee to the sack of Turk. I'm beginning to think its just some masterful plan.

As for Fedor still fighting well with age, we shall see what shape he is in against Arlovski at the end of Jan, and hopefully it will go longer than 1 minute :D

How is Kongo still fighting first tier fighters? Every time I've seen him he's looked pretty awesome but he's still fighting nobodies on their debuts.

Huge boxing fan but i have to say i really enjoyed the UFC event last night. 3 super fights was a great idea, you just do not get such a thing in boxing, it is something boxing should consider doing it would be good for the sport.

Anyway really impressed with Rashad Evans, every fight i watch he seems to be improving, i got a feeling he could be fighting JAckson next, would be a good fight. I think Evans is the younger,, more intelligent fighter i'd see him taking this fight.

It was the first time i'd seen frank Mir also, he looks like a really clever fighter, you could tell he studied his oponent and controlled the whole fight. Problem with Mir is he doesn't look that in shape i mean i know they were saying this is the best he has been for years but he still looks like he could get some more muscle on him, lose a bit of weight to me. If he got in shape he could be a top, top fighter.

The event didn't disappoint at all for me.

Wow, what a KO by Rampage, devastating! Hopefully that won't spell the end for Wanderlei, after all he's still only in his early 30s.

Gutted for Nog and Forrest, although to be fair Mir looked like he's back to his best. I'd tip him (as I did the first time) to take Lesnar out ... especially considering his standup performance tonight.

Guess i'll just have to wait even longer for Evans to get beat... it's going to be even sweeter when it eventually happens!

I think Wandy unfortunately may be nearing the end of his career, he had loads of bare knuckle boxing bouts before he turned to MMA so he has huge amounts of scar tissue. Also this is the third time he has been brutally knocked out now and like Rogan was saying the brain can only take it so many times.

I think Rampage will probably get the first shot at Evans and Evans will beat him comfortably, then we will hopefully have Machida Evans; elusive vs elusive :D

Can't say i've ever liked Mir and now him beating one of my all time favs i want Lesnar to steam roller him :) Which in all fairness i think we know he is capable of.

Agree with above - Wandy is clearly past his best. He's lost 4 out of 5 and 3 of the 4 losses were clean KOs, by Cro Cop, Henderson and Rampage. I think the same wear and tear that has hit Noguiera has also taken it's toll on Wanderlei

Nog looked awful very very disappointed as i dislike Mir a lot!

Happy to see Rampage back to his best but as others have mentioned a little disappointed to see the "afters" when the ref had already stopped the fight!

I had to laugh when Mir said to Lesnar "You've got my belt". I can't see Lesnar getting caught again in a rookie submission again and i can really see Lesnar out striking Mir like he did in their first encounter.

Then i think its probably mr crotch shot Kongo in for the next shot if he wins another against a top opponent.
