Hey guys, I'm travelling down to Manchester tomorrow for the Boro v United game and I'm not sure where to park, has anyone got any advice on the best place to get parked? Not bothered about walking as long as it's not ages away. Travelling down from Middlesbrough area and I have a Tomtom for postcodes.

Thanks!!

literally just drive there and there will be men in yellow coats directing you to car parks all around OT. Just turn up and it will all be signposted :)

Or maybe park @ trafford centre and get a tram? That way less traffic after the game and you can zip away straight on to the motorway...Not sure if it is the wrong side for you though coming from the NE

Do a search for Eccles Town centre near the M602.

Park for free at the Park and Ride

Get tram for around £3.00 each.

No problems with parking and you miss most of the traffic

No trams from the Trafford centre yet dude unless you mean the Lowry Centre

Nightmare, unless you get there really, really early. I haven't been for a few years but when i last went we parked miles away, took a good 45 mins to get there, still worth it. Old Trafford is one hell of a stadium.

Everytime i've been the cricket ground is the best, right over the road, not that expensive iirc and certainly wasnt mad busy before and after the game. I've never had problems getting out of big events like footy matches, just dont drive like a nork.

Thanks guys, I'm leaving here after work tomorow at 3 so I hope to get there by the latest 1800. My first visit to Old Trafford and I'm really looking forward to it!

Getting there early is all fine and dandy, but be prepared to be blocked in for ages after the match depending on where you park.

:D

I thought they had trams or trains or something at the Trafford Centre :confused:Might just have been a bus driving underneath a power line...

No mate. They were planned as part of the stealth tax(Congestion Charge) Remains to be seen if there will be funding for it now.

We've always parked in the Village in Trafford Park, but Man Utd have bought the car park we used and upped the price to £10, and the council have made the Village itself permit holders only.

Still, one £35 fine in the last 5 games still works out cheaper than the official car park :D

We part at the tyre garage, literally over the road from The Bishop Blaze. Think it costs about £10 but the location couldn't be better and you get away very quickly.

Ended up getting parked near the tram station straight down the road from the stadium only cost me £2.50! Enjoyed the game a lot! :)

sorry to dig up old thread. Got tickets for Man U tomorrow and can't get there till 3pmish.

Is the Lowry Centre normally okay? seems a popular place to reccomend. Don't mind paying a bit for parking.
