Buccaneer is a single and multiplayer game where players strive to become the most infamous pirate captain of all time and etch their name in The Hall of Infamy.

Set against a backdrop of the sunny Caribbean, players will control a variety of classic tall ships, bristling with cannons, as they plunder their way through a 50 mission campaign and go head to head against other cut-throats online.

Employing a simple and intuitive control system, players will be able to jump straight into the action and begin their career in piracy.

With a wide variety of non-linear single player missions and a choice of more than a dozen fully customisable ships, Buccaneer will have budding pirate captains clammering for more!

Gosh, I am surprised nobody has shown interest in this. Slipped under my Radar somehow :(

An ingenius game, is at least worth picking up the FREE DEMO from STEAM:

The FULL game is only £12 odd.

Pirate games always get my interest, but I've been disappointed by them time and time again. In fact the only one which I think ever worked well was Monkey Island :)

Normally they are great to play for the first hour or so, then the game ends up being the same for the next 12.

Will be checking this out tonite when i get home from work,

Nice find.

Anyone played the demo yet? is it any good?

Is it a jazzed up sid meirs pirates? Hope so in a way lol :D

Cheers

Only other great pirate game for me was seadogs. Pity disney bought the game and changed the second game into a poor Pirates of the Caribbean game.

Have always wondered about these smaller, cheaper games on Steam.

I quite fancied giving Moseby's Confederacy a go, but didn't really feel like buying it without a demo.

Awsome, i was thinking the other day there hasnt been a good Pirate style game for a while. I remember playing Port Royal a while ago and like it.

Might give it ago.

Anyone got it. any good??

Hmmm. Well, I played 2-3 missions and uninstalled it. Bit boring tbh. lol. And the pirate voices are well annoying.

It's just moved with WASD and shoot with your mouse.... nothing amazing.

:(

Pretty similar to my experience.....it was basically Sid Meier's Pirates! without any swordplay, dancing, looting, treasure hunting, villain apprehension....well, it was basically SMP...but only the combat bits, with a little bit of ship upgrading (which SMP didn't have to this extent) and the graphics were much nicer. Overall unimpressed...

Shame I need a good pirate game ¬¬.

If only they made a Silent Hunter type of sim for these type of ships, with the option of walking around the ship interacting with the crew and also fending off boarding parties etc.

(dream mode)

:( Shame, well i guess you cant expect much for a cheap Steam game

Think I will still give it a shot. SMP got a bit repetitive for me but was very enjoyable.

Have Tortuga also sitting around doing nothing as it didn't have the instant polished feel of SMP. Is it worth playing in to it a bit?
