I need your help guys. AV related question.

I think you would need 2 or 3 HDMI's, one from ps3 to amp then another one to the TV, then either the HDMI from the HD box to amp or component cables with a optical/coax cable for the sound.
Could you stretch to the DSPAX 763? You could enjoy HD audio to.

The RX-V363 does not do audio over HDMI so for both your PS3 & Sky HD you would run optical cables in addition to the HDMI cables(I believe as mentioned you would need an optical cable for Sky HD regardless of the amp to get 5.1).

All the HDMI is doing on that receiver is passing the video through, it wont receive audio via the HDMI so you need a separate audio connection for each component.
To be honest your better off spending a little more and getting some thing like a Sony STRDG820 which will allow you to get the audio from the HDMI (on the PS3) Sky don't transmit the audio through the HDMI so your going to have to use optical for that no matter what you do.

Slightly unrelated.
But what is the best way to send sound to the amp.
Is it hdmi or optical?
is there limitations on either?

Optical doesn't have the bandwidth for Dolby HD streams etc but otherwise I think they are identical. They are just different ways of sending a digital signal.

Thanks I thought I heard that.
So if I do upgrade my amp in the nearish future it would have to have hdmi audio and the codes or what ever you call them.

Even the entry level (£400ish) AV amps have the ability to decompress HD streams now so you shouldn't have to worry about compatibility issues
