Im wanting to freshen up the wheels on the car. Be it just white again. Or something different like black or bronze or high polish silver shade or graphite

there 17" 9j back 8j front speedlines. Anyone handy with photoshop want to play about with them ? Or suggest :)

I tried and I failed, how do you guys ( photoshoppers) change a color? I only know how to do it with adjustments/variations.
Also call me stupid but how on earth do you get colors like gold or silver  in photoshop ?

Here's my ( bad) attempt at black :

Little hint, if you like the Bronze that a lot of Rotas come in, similar to the Bronze most JDM wheels are done in, a very good match is Mazda Driftwood Metallic, think paint code is 11B

using the Magnetic lasso tool select relevant bits of the rim.
Copy to another layer.
Select all of this new layer.
Image >> Adjustments >> Hue/Saturation. make sure Colorize and Preview checkboxes are selected and go mental...

Pimp my ride sonny....

As for gold and silve, the gradient tool has a set of gradients called "metals", gold and silver are in here.

Ah Hue/Saturation thanks.
Using just the selection & not bothering with layers and simply using magic wand tool is much easier imo :p.

Anyways my 2nd attempt at black, tried making it a bit lighter now, looks much better than my first attempt due to using hue/saturation now for color change and a bit more thorough selection:

Doesn't look too bad on the car imo, quite nice actually, but it indeed makes the wheels disappear a bit.
