4850 which brand

Bad things about HIS? :/ They are pretty highly regarded..

Anyway the sapphire is good, but that's just the reference design. With the HIS you get it slightly pre-overclocked and a very nice quiet and effective cooler.

cool HIS it is then thanks for the help

HIS are great, only bad things i heard about them, was when they had a bad batch of x1950 pro's, but they replaced those with a new revision which was fine.

The difference between the Sapphire and the HIS is, the HIS has a much better cooler, its clocked higher, and its a quid cheaper. :D

I have one of those 4850 IceQ cards in another machine in the house, they are excellent cards, in that particular machine it's the quietest thing in the case. :)

My HIS Radeon 7500 had a duff secondary output (the DVI) which was constantly blurry. Granted, this was over 5 years ago...

Let me know what sort of temps you get, cos Im very intrested in this or the 4870 dark knight, cos the temps are ment to be very good and quite quiet too.

Just get the cheapest

Yeah get the cheapest if you can change the stock cooler yourself, cos temps will prob be high. ......Edit.....: But saying that, the cards has been out for quite a while now, so the stock coolers on all the cards may of improved.
