Need to buy a new game! No idea what, im picky help me!

Hey ok you get theese a lot and i read them but the same games keep coming up so i made my own.

Ive played games from a very young age and im fed up with a lot of the new stuff which is just worse remakes in my eyes a lot of the time.


I'd like some games which are new and orginal. So far all i can think of is portal and bioshock.

I have coh,supcom,cod4,cod2,css,bf2,m2tw,Aoe2/3, C&C3 etc and others but not gona list them all lol.

So what games are really something special? Cod: WAW doesn't interest me, cod4 was nothuign on cod2 anyway. Tf2 just looks like a gimic and nothing really new.


How about sins of solar empire? But i heard it takes like a day to do one game online?

X3 looks intresting, i doing some reading into it but not really sure what its about.
 
TF2 may look like a gimmic but it is fantastic fun, but if you are looking for new and original it has to be l4d :)
 
Yeah i did play l4d demo and is tempting. But doesn't it get repetative? And i only know of 1 friend with it.

See i stoped buying games for multiplayer which dont last me at least 2months a while ago. Otherwize it kinda feels like i wasted my money usualy. Bf2 i palyed for like 3 years.
 
even if it does only last you a month, it's only £6.99.

£6.99 is three beers - can you make three beers last a month?
 
i'm in the same boat as you mate there just isnt a game out i want and i have all the games u have, why dont you download AIX 2.0 mod for battlefield 2 gave me a few month worth of playing. hopefully some thing new comes out soon. DO NOT BUY TF2! going byyour games, i doubt you'll like it

Hey sorry for late reply guys. Well i ordered sins of a solar empire and im going to probably get portal and bioshock off steam tomorrow. Odd how a well known highstreet store sells sins of a solar empire for 30 quid in store and 18 on their website.

While many people may like TF2 and you say the other guy is in the minority i also think i am in the minority. So i think ill leave it, maybe ill pick it up later when times are desperate haha :)

Contimplating L4D, is it really popular online and easy to get into multiplayer matchs and is it kinda rubbish if u dont play the campange with people you know?

But that is providign the others are on as well :p But yeah looks like a really good game. My sorta thing i recon. The demo had a hour time limit and it was soooo mean lol.
 
Wouldn't bother with TF2 - very, very repetitive. Although I belive it could be a very tactical game people just run around like headless chickens.

Left 4 Dead I'm not overly interested in either - briefly played it at a friends house and wasn't overly impressed (though I did play the 1-player bit and found there was no real story just running from one area to the next).

X3 is very, very long and can be very slow. It's not a bad game it's just not elite. Freelancer would be a brilliant alternative if you like fast action based games and don't have it.

If you haven't got it already, Day Of Defeat Source.

That game refreshes First Person Shooters beyond anything you could dream of.
 
If you have not played Portal before, what are you waiting for!
The most "new" "refreshing" and addictive game i have ever played!
And i pretty much only play FPS games.
Can't wait for the next instalment.
 
Yeah I forgot about portal. Although it was short it's a really fun game to play. It's unique in its own way and I think that's one of the main reasons I enjoyed it. It's a nice change.
 
well i already completed portal in like a day on the xbox but i was going to get it on pc for mods and that. Was quite funny, loved the song at the end.

Yeah i think ill skip TF2 then. And im quite iterested in dod:s, it still got a huge community or has it turned into kinda like Cod2, only the die hards playing?
 
just get the Valve pack from steam, less than £40 and will be hundreds of hours worth of gaming there !!

I spent more than that on L4D and Orange box less than a month ago :(
