Anyone know of an affordable fruit juicer that can juicer whole oranges with skin?

I'll tell you what, Tropicana don't make theirs with the skin so I'd go with their recipe.

i hope some mod will remove this constant ps3 spam and give suspensions..

be more fun and post a picture or so..

i make fresh orange juice a lot of the time, its nice, tropicana tastes really sour in comparison, i thought they did use the skin. :(

whats with the PS3 jokes

have i missed something

i think something about those online sites where you invite people and you get the PS3, or he just made a couple posts asking about HDD's inside PS3's would assume he would buy one?

When he says he wants to juice whole oranges with skin, it doesn't mean the skin goes in the juice. Just means the machine is capable of cutting the orange in half and squeezing each half, rather than having to accept a peeled orange which it then just mashes up...

How's the book?

actually a juicer like that would be awesome, but for the consumer market the only ones I have seen like that are electrically operated. But you have to manually put in each half of the orange onto the centrifugal cone presser. Then close the lid and switch the machine on. This ends up quite time consuming. For the professional market with a high price tag there are the juicers which have an auto feed where you just put all the whole oranges onto a tray that has a conveyor belts that auto feeds it into a tube that slices before pressing onto a centrifugal cone presser. Ideally I am after something like that which is affordable under £150

But then I have heard of other juicers which have a stainless steel micro mesh filter which is a rounded object that sits on a centrifuge and spins and you feed the fruit down a tube into the filter. These are basically how all the juicers on the market function. Now most of these juicers cannot take a whole orange with it's skin. As orange skin is quite hard, the juicers motor power isn't strong enough and the mesh filter isn't strong enough either to cut the skin off. But I have heard there are some of these centrifuge juicers that can do peel the skin off. Well it's not exactly peeling the skin, it's mashing it like how it mashes carrot juice. You may get a little part of the orange skin in the juice but not enough to make it too bitter. The juicer should be strong enough to cut the skin into tiny pieces and push it through the filter into the pulp container. I am really looking for something like that. Unless you know of a automatic cone presser with auto feed tray for hard skinned citrus fruits, lemons, oranges etc

why do you need a big fancy juicer though? i make juice every day and it takes all of 5-10minutes of effort for a perfect glass.

the juicers will have to be really expensive to make it properly, as the pith is sour and the oils within the skin come out very easily through a bit of pressure, sure as it is nice to have a smell of flaming/normal orange oils on in a cocktails that isnt very nice in your mornin' juice
