1) Is anyone else having issues adding points to their account? I've been trying and it just gives an error after the confirmation stage.

2) The 120Gb HDD, i know its outraageously expensive but in terms of practicality is it worth it? How difficult is the process of putting a third party HDD into the chassis?

1) not sure on that as i havent put points on lately

2) i got the 120gb just before the nxe update and am glad i did my hd is currently at half most of them are game installs and videos, installing a third party hd can be done but it needs to be a certain one and i believe you still cant go above 120gb (am not sure though) and its tricky to do :(

hope this helps

I've just upgraded my 20GB to 120GB. After a little soul searching I splashed on the official route from OCUK @ £80. You can get the physical drive for around £40 delivered, then you have to dismantle the old one and install the new loosing your saves and content in the process. Selling the 20GB drive should clear £20 after fees or whatever, perhaps I'll even flog in the MM here so all in all an extra £20 for no hassle and the nice cable and software for the upgrade. Seems reasonable to me,

I've installed the games I play now so the DVD isn't constantly thrashing at full speed. Makes for a much more pleasant experience and should hopefully make the DVD last longer provinding the console doesn't RROD first....

Unfortunately have just bought some new Steam content for the PC... ooops, The Xbox may be a little neglected!

Using a 3rd party HD is also a bannable offence :)

Which nobody has ever been banned for ;)

They only say that because it falls into the generic terms of invalidated warranties etc. In theory, you can be banned for just about anything that goes against the T&C of Live. Doesn't mean you will though.

then you have to dismantle the old one and install the new loosing your saves and content in the process.

You shouldn't lose anything, even if it means resorting to buying/borrowing a cheap memory card (in the case of saves). Any content can just be re-downloaded.

A certain place sells the 120gb hard drive for £69.99. I picked one up recently and traded in some of my old games etc and ended up only paying 99p in the end. Well worth it, can install games freely and the damn thing is quiet now!

1) Added a 4,200 MS points card on Monday, 22/12/08 with no issues, appeared instantly on my account.

2) If you plan to install games then definately. I bought an Elite in July and my 120HDD has about five games installed. It makes the noise of the 360 more tolerable.
