Whats UT3 like these days?

I just checked the Registry & my XFi-XRam was set to disabled already.
I'm going to enable Xram & see what happens.

Hi all, I just started playing this for the first time today, it seems fun, don't think it will have much lasting appeal though. Although it doesn't have a particularly big player base I just found a server with around 8 other people on and had fun for quite some time.

I'd be up for some games with some OCUK'ers :).

on a TDM server with over 20 players...damn good blast. :)

im with PinkFloyd on this on. The movement and feel of UT3 is much closer to the original than 2k3 and 2k4 where. So imo UT3 is better than those.

I still play UT3 often and have put more hours into it than i did on 2k3 and 4 combined :)

It helps ive found a nice crowd to play with though and a good vctf map with lots of custom maps, keeps me coming back for more :)

vctf the most popular? I'm not keen on the V bit if it means for vehicle, I'd rather not have to use the vehicles.

Hoping the expansion improves matters but for the moment ut1>ut3>ut2k4, in my eyes at least :)

I'd agree with that, UT1 is still the best especially as it felt 'gritty'.

As for X-Fi I stopped having issues with my X-Fi after I uninstalled the creative drivers and control panel's and just extracted the *.exe and used device manager to install the required drivers.
After that I installed the openal thing then I was able to play the ut3 with no crashes.

Problem solved Now by downloading the latest OpenAL.
Its the same problem that 3DMark06 & Vantage get if not installing the latest OpenAL separately even tho creative drivers installed a version.
So no need to uninstall the drivers & control panel.

Downloading UT3 now. Loved the original and played 2k4 at a LAN last year, loved it. i don't necessarily expect this to have the same sort of feel but it is the perfect game for me to have as my "logon for 25 mins when I have the time spare" type of thing. CS and TF2 get quite dull now. Are there any servers frequented by OCUK crowd?

I noticed there is a friends list in UT3.
I prefer this version to the older ones now that i have given my self time to get used to it.

There is a friends list in all of them, maybe it is more advanced in UT3 though. 75% downloaded, almost done :D

Nope, but I cant send messages in game or reply to them or add people to my friends list in it :s

Saw you earlier Final8y but couldn't reply or add :s
