If you plan on watching Pixar blu-rays at a distance of about 3ft from the screen while looking out for the tiniest bit of jagged edge or poorly gradiented colours then get the z series.

Seriously, I could tell the difference from 8 feet away and at quite an angle too (quite a lot of us crammed around the TV).

If you need to be 3 feet from the set to notice the difference then I'd seriously suggest you get your eyesight checked.

If you wanted to do a blind test twixt otherwise identical 720p and 1080p panels watching a Pixar film from a distance of 8-9 feet then I'll happily bet you £100 that I can identify which set is which.

Haha I don't doubt you, but lets say you have 15 seconds to do so. If so, then no chance.

You need to have had the demo I had and then you will see how much of a tiny difference there is, which can only be seen on relatively still images. At 3ft you could obviously tell just by being able to see the respective pixel sizes, and that is just cheating

Ad your comparison of 720 to 1080 isnt typical of the flatscreen market products IMO as they were both Pioneer Kuro sets.
