My fonts in vista just changed to some wierd bold looking ones, this appeared on all dialog boxes, menus and so on.

I found a registry fix that sorted out the boldness but now in firefox and IE i have a different font to the default which i think has been caused by the registry edit (Ill post the reg file contents if thatll help).

Also, altering the font settings in firefox doesn't change anything.

Anyone know how i can reset all vista fonts to the defaults and get this fixed?

This it what it looks like:

tried system restore, but annoyingly i had no restore points before the problem started, think they got cleaned away recently in disk cleanup or ccleaner.

Ah, just looked in font brower, Arial on its own is not there. I have:

Arial Black
Arial Narrow Bold
Arial Narrow Bold Italic
Arial Narrow Italic
Arial Rounder MT Bold
Arial Unicode MS

but not standard arial. Ill try downloading it and see if that fixes things. Thanks for the tip

EDIT: can someone upload arial.ttf plz? I cant seem to find a working download.

np dude, I had the same problem a few weeks ago, except all my arial text showed up-side down.

It was thecremeegg who sent me the original font.

Damn, i thought itd worked. Like it changed the google headings "web, images, maps, news..." back to normal but when i serach for something it still shows up with the different font. Any other ideas?

yeah, looks like im missing times new roman too, do you know of any restore package or something? because i could be going for ages finding more and more deleted fonts, god knows what deleted them in the first place.

Got it, copied the entire fonts folder from my laptop and installed them all, rather a lot were missing for some reason. Everything is back to normal now, i hope. Thanks for your help
