Posted a while back about new car suggestions... I chose a Toyota Celica 7th Gen in the end and went for the 140bhp version. Really happy with it, sooo easy to drive and really comfy. Good on the fuel and quick enough for me. Surprisingly insurance is only £87 more to insure than my old Peugeot 206 (1.4).

Its the Premium pack version with full leather interior etc. X reg with 76k on the clock.

Much happier having a japanese car over a french now as the 206 gave me a ton of problems! :)

Nice :)

I've got a real soft spot for these cars.

Btw they are a 4 seater but not much legroom really in the back for anything more than young kids.

lol :P ... GT4 would be awesome, but like the 190 version be a tad too much to run for me!

The VVTL-i would have been nice but running costs put me off... when i get a better job :P !

I paid £3,700 for this one... Maybe a little more than some available but I was happy as it came from a mates relative and had a FSH, low mileage etc.

And like bobert50 said, cramped in the back, but very comfy if you are under 5ft 5 :)

they have dropped in price quite a bit havent they.

dont think i like the look of them tbh. would rather have a hyundai coupe!

 Your kidding?

I think that looks like its worth WAY more than £3700 personally.

Btw, would the 190 version really have cost much more to run? i'm surprised at that. Would have thought it'd be kind of like the difference between running a 523i and a 530i etc.

I'd have been really tempted to get one of these a while back as a great reliable, fun car for a year or two but i'm too tall! (6ft 8) which means i've no chance ! I loved the exterior and interior personally, especially if you shove a pioneer double din in there :)

TBH it might not have been too much more to run fuel wise. Insurance was about £300 more for me and I think Tax is the same. My way of thinking behind not getting the 190 was that around my area there aren't many places to put your foot down and I don't drive quickly anyway, so 140 sounds better for my needs really fuel wise and speed wise.

Yep, being 6ft 8 you would struggle with one of these :p. A couple of my mates are about 6ft 2 ish and their heads touch the roof in the front lol!

Going to get a nice Pioneer double din in there too  ... had my eye on the Pioneer FH-P80BT. There was a thread on here about it a little while back... the fella had a Celica too with that double din fitted, looked good!

Im also getting a gen 7, whilst id prefer a gt4 (and they are stupidly cheap now) its still a 13 year old car and running costs will be far higher. Fancied something a bit more modern and refined for the commute :p

So why didnt you buy one? It would have been cheaper to run, more reliable and the same price to buy as your Megane.

I honestly didn't know how cheap they'd got. Insurance would have been a fair bit more too and my previous housemate (but who I still see frequently) has one and I didn't want to get the same car as him!
