i've just received my Hyundai N240Wd 24" monitor, unpacked it and fited the bottom part then connected the dvi and power then turned everything on, guess what, it says no signal then it just goes off. so i tryed another dvi cable but the same thing happened. so i tryed the vga port on the monitor with the vga cable and that worked. so it looks like the dvi port is faulty..

as anybody else had this fault too?

im really not happy, this is the 3rd product that as been faulty / damaged

Hey - i just bought this monitor too - i didnt have the problem that your talking about but i have had other problems with this monitor too :S

the "auto" button does nothing at all - the blacks look like when u look at a monitor from a really low angle all the time - its really messed up - have u fixed ** prob in the end?

auto button only works when using vga cable... the blacks are not that good when theres a lot of black on the screen, the text and taskbar look fine (black) but i guess for the price its good.

yes i got my problem fixed, i contacted ocuk first and it was gonna cost me £20 to send it back and take up to 7 days to get a replacemeant so i thought no way, then i contacted Hyundai repair center which is in the uk. they came and packed it up and left a new one (free service). only taken 3days.. :D

Just want to make sure you covered your bases:

1. Is there a mode button on the TFT to switch between DVI, VGA, HDMI,S-Video and etc...

2. Have you enabled the 2nd output of your graphics card? Is there only one output on your graphics card?

1. yes but couldn't get the menu up to change to dvi but when used vga it came up, i tryed changing it to dvi while using vga but still didn't work. my new one works fine and automaticly goes to dvi.

2. the outputs on graphic cards are always enabled. u can't disabled the outputs. i tryed both outputs

so have u noticed this problem with the blacks and the way the greys on the screen upclose seem really really grainy - the blacks on my screen are awful in game - i cant even see detail in someareas becuase its just got this werid effect like when u look at a monitor from a really low angle

when theres a lot of black on the screen it looks alittle lightx. but not as bad yours. the greys on mine are fine...

well with mine they came to my house and take it away and they bring a new one with them.

for me they said they will pick it up and it could take 10 days for repair :(

also i noticed how to fix this black problem - u have to look at the monitor side onwards - that eliminates the black problem but its a orkward angle and the colours go red :(

mmm i don't know why.. but atleast it's free.

u shouldn't need to look at it side onwards. i know all lcd screen/monitors don't do perfect blacks. but on mine the blacks looks ok.

lol i emailed them telling them about my problem further and i said is it possible to get a replacement instantly rather than having to wait for ages and i told them what you said and they said that Hyundai would never do that and that you are a liar!

lol!?

FIRST I SAID:

I have a picture here:
http://img123.imageshack.us/img123/1382/screenbrokennn9.jpg

that when viewed on my screen clearly outlines its problem - view as large as
possible and you will notce the following:

the GUN and francis's back are almost compleatly black and unviewable

Except when i look at my screen sharply from the right (my point of
view) you can clearly see his back, the gun and the red medic pack.

when viewed head on its impossible to see - hope this will help in
seeing the problem

Also I was speaking to someone else online who had the exact same
monitor and
his didnt work properly either and he said you gave him a replacement
and took
his old one at the same time - unless its clearly obvious what needs to
be done
to my screen i would be extreamly gratefull if the same could be done
for me.

THEY SAID:

Good morning.

Thank you for your email.

Your warranty is for repair so unfortunately we cannot exchange your faulty
monitor . You can find your warranty terms condition in you warranty card. If we
cannot repair you monitor then we will send replacement. If your friend had
exchange probably he made it up or it was not Hyundai monitor. It is not
possible with Hyundai.

I do apologize for that. If you are not happy with your warranty terms
conditions, you can write a letter of complain to:

HYUNDAI
Unit 5B
Westfield Road
Kineton Industrial Estate
Southam

Kind Regards,

THEN I SAID:

Okay then - the monitor is clearly faulty though - i have been through every
setting on the monitor and cant find any thing to fix it so why cant you just give me a new one on monday?

THEN THEY SAID:

Good morning,

Thank you for your email.

I am sure our engineers will identify the problem and fix it.
We have a full description of the fault so it is very helpful.

For repair we advise 7-10 working days. If our engineers will not have spars
then it will take a little bit longer.

no idea why they telling you that crap. as i said above what reason i have to lie? or make up that.

its one rule for one and another rule for another...

when i had the problem i contacted them by phone (if that makes any differents)

How long ago did you purchase it? Less than a "reasonable time" (taken by most to be 28 days) you can reject it as not being fit for purpose to the retailer (not Hyundai).

i did contact them by phone but they said they wanted proof of purchase so i had to mail them.

what do you think i should say to them now then?

when i had the problem i contacted them by phone and i explained to the woman that the dvi port isn't working and she said it sounds like a fault with the monitor and i told her i contacted the eretail first and they told me it'll cost about £20 to send it back to the eretail and she said thats silly!!! don't do it, our pickup and deliver service it free. then she looked on her system and said theres 1 in stock and they'll replace it but i must email her the poof of purchase with the ref number that she gave me first so i did then afew hours later she called back saying she as done that and they'll pick up the faulty monitor and leave the new one. which they did...
