Drunken idiocy

I wanted to chill some champers last night so stuck it in the freezer and had a few beers while I waited. I then forgot about it. :rolleyes:

Top tip is: Don't do this - when I remembered in my drunken stupor, I tried opening the bottle and then had fizzy slush erupting all over the place, including all over me, turning me into Mr Frosty the snowman. Absolutely mental :eek:

My keyboard still works, fortunately as that took some collateral damage...

If you can imagine the F1 type celebrations with frozen slush, you'll be about there. Poor carpet and ceiling...

Nothing says "I've got more money than sense" quite like champagne ice cubes.

Champagne bottles are designed to take pretty extreme pressures I believe so it exploding in the freezer is quite unlikely thankfully. Pity to waste it though.

My Dad did this when he owned a Restaurant, he used it as a base for a Champagne Sorbet.

I ended up exploding a few bottles of magners in the freezer once...

wasnt pretty.

I remember once doing something similar with a normal bottle of white wine - got it out and thought "yay! hasn't frozen" ... then plonked it on the table and suddently it froze solid in about 2-3 seconds. Same principle as those hand warmers you can get with the metal clicky bit in them that suddenly turn solid and warm up.

Well, it was going mental for quite some time and I was trying to "drink" as much as possible but I had severe brain freeze, resulting in me looking a complete tit. Shame it wasn't captured on video really - would have been a classic

We did drink what was left in the bottle after warming it up under the hot tap for a while.

Christ, if I woke up after a drunken night out and that is as bad as I drunken idiocy got.. I'd be a happy man
