Have you ever considered just taking off?

If i lose my current job then yeah i will leave :) I will probably apply for a Canadian visa and go to Vancouver.

I have also randomly been looking at 6month 20+ country adventure tours today! They look like fun.

I have done twice really, in 1999 I moved to Munich with just two suitcases of stuff and lived in a hotel for a month before I found an apartment. I then moved back to the UK in 2004 after selling most of of stuff in Germany, although I had a transit van full of stuff this time.

Ok it's not much but I once just woke up, had an impulse to drive all the way to Scotland for absolutely no discernible reason and gone and did it. I didn't actually enjoy myself though, and I got lost.

Just a word of warning :)

I consider it all the time! I can't do it whilst i'm in a relationship though. She hasn't really done anything wrong yet.

I have done it with success.

And I would do it all over again in a heart beat.

Yes moving to Canada with my wife, timescale unsure of but with some hard work, a bit of luck and and lot of saving, hopefully in about 2 years or less

Still, sounds like a great idea.

Several times, though I think I would find it difficult to actually do. I am very close to my family and have some really good friends here that I would miss a lot, so I'm not sure I would be able to move at the moment.

Good luck with that one, I hope you don't like a life outside of work if you are moving over there. ;)

I've been thinking about it a lot recently. I think I'll wait for the girlfriend to finish uni then convince her to leave with me.

It was linked to from another forum i visit... i have no idea if they are any good, but it does seem very interesting!

Presumably they're group trips.. any idea how big the groups are? looks like they've only been going a year so i might do some digging... looks good though! Would definately take the stress out of back-packing, especially if it's your first foray into the world.

Edit: groups are 14-26. 14 would be nice!
