I havent had any serious gaming session with my 360 for a while. today I played forza 3 for 3 and a half hours and then BOOM 360 locks up. I switch it off then when I switch it back on 3 red rings.

Guess when I bought the 360? 1/1/06 so 1 day past the 3 years and it breaks. Im so gutted and cant afford a new one for a couple of months. Im just so glad Im away for 3 weeks from monday so it wont be too bad without the 360. :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

Just get in touch with MS anyway and they will probably repair it anyway.

If they say no you haven't exactly lost anything anyway.

You may still be covered for the 3 rings, go through the repair process on the web site.

That's pretty bad luck right there, with the one day out.... maybe look at one of the many places online that offer to fix the system for cheaper than it would cost to buy a new one?

i see what you're saying. You say you had left your 360 ALONE for a while...left it to gather dust. Then decide you want to start it up for an intense session. Bish bash bosh... it has a cardiac arrest with a RROD failure.

3 things

a) If you dont exercise your 360 regularly it aint gonna be fit enough to take the intense sessions

b) You cant utterly neglect and ignore something and suddenly decide "you want some of that" straight away and demand a hot n sweaty 3 hr session AND not expect theres gonna be problems.

c) Switch it on every so often - browse XBL - let it know its wanted and it will reward you for a long time to come without throwing a wobbly in a demand for attention.

Take a moment to consider the mavity of what you have done today. :D

+1 :p

In all seriousness you have nothing to lose by calling the support line. Give it a bell :)

Just say you didnt call up yesterday as it was New Years Day and as an bank holiday you assumed they were closed...

If they complain youve got proof of purchase to cover the date - Id be very surprised if they dont service it FOC...

ps3ud0

You phone up you extend the warranty for £24. You leave it a week and you phone them up.

My mate has just done that. He has one that every single boot reinstalls the NXE/locks up etc but he hadn't taken the extended warranty out.

He took the warranty out when the xbox was over 2 years old and they still let him do it. He waited a week and phoned them up.
