Which memory slots?

I have geil black dragon pc 6400 @ 800mhz 4-4-4-12
My friends say to get best performance use slots 1/3 is this true?
I have a setting on my mobo that says dual channel and something about making overclocking better, options are auto/disable/enable

MSI P45 NEO-F

Will 4-4-4-12 800mhz be similiar to 5-5-5-18 @ 1000mhz and is 2.56v too high for this ram?

yeah enable dual channel in bios.

and use slots 1 and 3 or 2 and 4

2.56v through the ram

that would kill the ram.!!

your ram should be set to around 1.9v - 2.0v MAX

its rated to be 1.9-2.0v

your only decreasing the life span of it....

Yeah just keep to 2.0V maximum. The black dragons do not really respond to a high voltage so you are not getting anything performance wise.
