Apologies for yet another scam/no scam post

They normally use cheques from stolen chequebooks etc. I received a cheque wrapped in carbon paper from Nigeria before , for exactly £4000 it was I believe.

Was sent from Lagos , but Barclays account - obviously stolen.

Cheers for the not too sarcastic/know it all answers; As I said, I was pretty sure it was a scam but wanted to know if there was any way to **** 'em back.
