As thread title really...

I decided that, for me personally, it was no longer worth the money. I don't play online games that much anymore and to be charged £40 a year to play a few games of COD4 (pretty much the only online game I played) here and there is a little excessive. Anyway, my membership has now run out and my friend wanted to play COD4 two nights ago but obviously I can't now. I feel as though I'm being held at ransom to play the games which I have already paid for!

What I would like to know is: what was it exactly that I was paying for before?

Secondly, has anyone else decided to follow suit?

I should point out that I still have my Playstation 3 for the occassional online fix now so it's not as if I don't have any online playabaility anymore. I know I'm not the only one on the forums thinking the same thing after having spoken to one or two of you...

I didn't bother renewing this year after only playing online a few times with SSF2THDR I didn't feel it was worth it,

Live has never really interested me, but I paid when I first got my 360, I play online on my pc a lot though and I think that if I didn't have that I would probably use live more but it feels gimped in comparison,

I also have a PS3 that I never play online with (apart from the occasional everybody's golf game)

I don't have a problem with live and I think the fee is well worth it, but it just isn't my thing

I haven't, in my opinion, got the most out of my 12month sub this time. I only played COD4 online like you and nothing else.

However, i will renew again, cause i just feel if i didn't, then i would feel really limited to what i could do on the 360. Even though i dont play online for weeks on end, i still want it there when i do want to come back to it.

But do you feel as though you are getting value for money?

Break it down, how often did you place CoD4?

Sub is £40, 40/52 = 0.762...

So thats just over 76p a week to play any of the games you own online.

Granted you may only play CoD4 so the question is do you feel paying 76p a week to play CoD4 is worth it?

I don't have CoD4 so I don't know what the online service is like but the majority of 360 games I've played on live have been pretty good.

My sub will run out soon too and I may or may not get a new one as I don't play much online. However, when I did, personally I felt the service is good enough to warrant the sub. (Of course there are a lot of games that suffer from poor live service)

Probably not to be honest. But when i do play COD4, i really like it. I just need to be in the "mood" to play it.

I really like Live itself. Prefer it to PSN, granted i dont play online much on my PS3.

I never pay full price like £40 for live. Never pay anymore than about £27 for 13 months, so its not too bad for the money.

I'm not. My sub runs out on 01-Feb and I just use my PS3 for most of my gaming these days. There is only Halo Wars for 360 coming up that interests me and I'll only do the SP mode of that.

When you consider that you can get Live kits for £27 on some sites you can't really fall off. Plus mine was 13 months as well! :D Love playing on Live with my mates and have done since the Xbox came out.

I'll renew for sure. Got a PS3 at Xmas and the PSN on FIFA is laggy as hell compared to XBL. Hopefully it's just the Xmas period but it's been fine for XBL.

I just renewed my account even though it wasn't up, becuase it was only £30 in a shop for 12-months. Not the cheapest but I now have Live until June 2010. I don't game online often, but I do like the freedom just to play online CO-OP or COD4 when I want.

At those sort of prices (say £30-50 per year) I can live with, however if it became more without additional benefits, I would consider more before renewing.

All my friends have live and we have a riot online...which is good becauseI dont have a great deal of free time what with family/jobs ect.

defo renewing....but I'll pick mine up for sub £30.

i can safely say that i wont be renewing.

Best sig EVER!!! :D :D

Got two 12 month Xbox360 live gold DVD cases still sealed here so I have got nearly 3yrs of live including the subscription I currently have I think I have about 4 months left, defiantly excellent value for money for the game play you can have :p
