I'm after a new monitor (anything from 22" upwards) which has a resolution of at least 1900x1080 and both a DVI port and an HDMI port. Ideally I don't want to spend much more than £200, so has anyone got any suggestions? I realise that this may be an impossible request, but what's the closest you can come?

thats the one i just said :) although i never linked it properly :(
that actually looks like an awesome monitor and damn its cheap

Wow, good shout! Hadn't seen that one before for some reason. Very, very tempting...

The other one I was looking at is the 24" "True HD" Dell-it's slightly over my budget but again looks like a nice monitor. How much of a difference is there between 22" and 24" though? Is it £50 worth of difference for someone who's not rolling in cash at the moment?

EDIT: From what I've read Asus are releasing a 24" version of that same monitor-anyone know if/when it's hitting the UK?

i went from 22-24 personally it was not much of a difference. except new monitor (g24) is full HD. the monitor i linked u for 170 quid is a bargain. and as i found out bigger monitors mean bigger graphics cards!

Have a look at the Asus VK246H. Has HDMI and good specs, may be slightly out of budget.

Yea, if I was spending that much I'd probably go with the 24" Dell one tbh...

That's the thing; the 22" Asus you guys linked me to is also full HD, so resolution (and graphical power) wise there would be no difference between that one and the 24" "True HD" Dell. The only difference is the actual size. I've had a bit of a compare in a certain high street store, and the difference between a 19" and 22" seems vast, while going from 22" to 24" doesn't seem so big. Is this the case?

the jump from 22 to 24 was considered big because at 24 you could theoretically get a full hd resolution given 1:1 or good scaling via your pc

now you can get a hd resolution in a 22 (21.5)... so make your own mind up :)

i bought a viewsonic vx2260wm in a gamble when there were no reviews of it, i must have been lucky because i have only heard good things since i bought it, see my review of it in this monitor forum (: "vx2260wm review")

I mean more is there a noticeable difference in terms of physical viewing size; how much more actual screen (rather than pixels) is there?
