Pizzas -worst value fast food?

Use Dominos all the time, we have tonnes of vouchers for half price and bogof back at Uni. Can't go wrong :D

Have never felt ripped off personally :)

pizzas from Italy are gonna be better value. You are doing it wrong!

Fixed;)

Om nom nom

Having said that now I can't eat proper pizzas I end up making my own all the time, thin crust and far nicer than any shop bought ones. My housemates spend their entire time salavating over them.:D

make your own? buy bases, takes 5 fun minutes to create a personalized pizza
yea thats nice to all the tomato purees ive tried taste really nice usually a lot better than most pizza places you cant go wrong with a DIY pizza

You are being ripped off, you could go to somewhere like Pizza Express and eat in for almost half the money you're paying for a takeaway from Pizza Hut.

I would say even make your own bases, worth a little extra effort.

I like buying frozen pizza, cooking it, and then putting it in the fridge over night. It tastes so much nicer cold.

Always feel disappointed after chain rubbish, pizza hut is probably thr worst but can't say dominoes is much better.

There used to be an local shop near here that did awesome pizzas, even a 'small' was epic.

If they were still open I'd be at least 14st!

I've always felt that restaurant pizzas are relatively good value compared to takeaway. With most stuff it's much more expensive if you buy it in a 'sit down' venue, yet pizzas seem to only cost around £7-9 in chain restaurants, no more expensive than a takeaway really.

Also I find pizza quite filling, I mean if you get a non-thin crust one they can be pretty large, at least the equivalent of 3 slices of bread +toppings.

Make it yourself, almost as fast as phoning and waiting 30-40 minutes for a freezing cold pizza to turn up. I make the dough in advance and freeze it the moment I've measured each bit out - defrost by a radiator for an hour or two, or in the microwave for a couple of minutes, roll out, top, cook - job done (and it'll probably be a lot healthier than the rubbish you can buy).

i have to admit however much i like pizza.... ordering it when out in a restaurant is CRIMIAL!!!!! as with many pasta dishes, i feel they just arent worth the money you pay for them :( (especially as most of them are just on par with many frozen/chilled pizzas)

Yeah they're a bit of a rip off. I've started making my own recently too.. even easier with a bread machine because you can make the dough easily yourself too.

Pizza hut just boggles me.

Pizza express is a 5 min walk away, costs the same and tastes SO much better. Why do people go to 'Hut?

no need even for a bread machine, I used to hand knead before I got a Dualit hand mixer with dough hooks and as well as tasty pizza you'll get strong forearms!

Find a local Italian restaurant that does takeaways. Our nearest one does awesome pizzas. Quality not quantity, which you won't find at Pizza Hut.

Exactly, there is a Italian restaurant up the road from me that has a wood burning pizza oven and make their pizzas in the traditional way in front of you while you wait. Their pizzas range from £4 to £7 + 25p for the box. Far better tasting and probably healthier.
